Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Saturday, March 18, 2023, in her 94th year.

Beloved wife of the late Glenn Allen Baker.

Survived by her daughter Kathryn Fawcett and son-in-law John of West Kelowna, BC, and Bronwyn Baker of London, ON, her sister Joan of Balsam Lake, ON, and two nieces and two nephews, and predeceased by her sister Lois Walker of Oshawa, ON.

Joyce graduated as a Registered Nurse from Oshawa General Hospital in 1950 and pursued her nursing career at Oshawa General Hospital and later at the Oshawa Clinic.

Following her nursing career, Joyce supported the Oshawa Hospital as a member and volunteer of the Women’s Auxiliary for 33 years, helping to raise money for the hospital. She also donated 30 layette sets she knitted herself to the Gift Shop.

She was honoured with an Award of Distinction at 25 years of service in the Auxiliary. Joyce was a member of the GM Choir and Oshawa Lawn Bowling Club in the 1980s.

She enjoyed international travel and had a passion for creating beautiful needlework tapestries.
