It is with saddened hearts that the family of the late Donald Raymond ‘Wayne’ Vincent of Springdale, NL, age 81, announces his passing on July 25, 2024 at Green Bay Health Centre, Springdale, NL.
Wayne was born in Triton to Bina and Claude Vincent on July 24, 1943, the second oldest of eight children. In 1956, the family relocated to Springdale where he met the love of his life, Bonnie Dalley. Wayne and Bonnie married in 1966 and move to Toronto shortly after where he worked as an Income Tax Auditor for the Federal government. After moving back to Springdale in 1974, he worked as the Administrator/CEO of Springdale Hospital and Valley Vista Seniors Complex until he retired. After retirement, he went back to work in the North with the Nunavut Government. Wayne loved to spend time at his cabin and on his boat, as well as visiting his daughters and grand children. He was an active member of the Springdale Curling Club and "King" Lion in the Springdale Lions Club. He will be forever remembered for his community involvement, volunteering, and willingness to help whenever he could.
Wayne leaves to remember with fond and loving memories, his wife Bonnie; daughters, Lesley Vincent (Jim), Jennifer Vincent; grandchildren, Chelsey (Sam) Hall, William (Sarah) Hall, Mackenzie Hall, Christine Hall and Bailey Adams; brother, Brian (Jo-Ann) Vincent; sister, Yvonne McLaughlin; brother-in-law, Wesley Andrews; as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.
Wayne is predeceased by his parents, Claude & Bina Vincent; brothers, Eugene, Orvin and Granville Vincent; sisters, Nola Saunders and Marion Andrews.
In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place.
Public Visitation will be Monday July 29, 2024, 1pm- 4pm at Green Bay Funeral Home, 145 Cpl. S. Bouzane Blvd., Springdale, NL. Refreshments will be provided.
