(April 16, 1918 - January 10, 2017)Frank passed peacefully at Winbourne Park in Ajax on January 10, 2017 in his 99th year.Frank was predeceased by his beloved first wife Pearl and dear second wife Melitta, his loving mother Gertrude Mullett and his wonderful father Angus Groff, as well as his adored sisters Dorothy Gibb, Evelyn Townsend and his beloved brother Kenneth Groff.Great grandad or Bopbop as he was known, to his 13 children, grandfather to 7, he leaves his daughter Beverly (Rick) Godin and his three sons Douglas (Audrey), John (Kim) and Glen (Heidi).Frank was always a charming and dignified man, but at the same time a man of simple tastes and desires. He loved the Ontario North Country where he designed and hand-built two cottages.During World War Two, Frank fought in Europe as an officer in the Stormont Dundas Glengarry Highlanders in the struggle to liberate Holland. The fighting took him through the Netherlands, Belgium, France and into Germany. Post war, he was decorated for exceptional gallantry by Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands.Frank’s greatest pleasure was to create joy and laughter in the lives of those he encountered during his voyage along the road that was his life.
