(WWII Veteran - British 8th Army) - Peacefully at Lakeridge Health in Oshawa with family by his side on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at the age of 97. Beloved husband of Sally for 69 years. Loving Dad of Susan (Neil) and Martin (Denise). Adoring Grandad John of Melissa (Andrew), Janine (Christian), Tristan (Jenn), Kiri (Brandon), Arlaine (Latham) and Erica and will be missed by many great-grandchildren.Predeceased by sister Margaret and brothers Bill and Peter. John will be missed by extended family and friends. In John’s spare time he enjoyed watching soccer; especially Arsenal and Toronto FC. A special thank you to all of the doctors, nurses and staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa Acute Care Short Stay G8 for their care and compassionate support.
