It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of George Lucien Ladouceur on Friday, February 9th, 2024, at the age of 76, surrounded by his loving family at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.
George, a man of unwavering dedication, was a hard worker throughout his life.
He spent many years as a proud employee of General Motors Canada, contributing his skills and passion to his work.
His commitment to his family was equally admirable, as he lovingly supported his wife Suzanne for an incredible 58 years of marriage.
George had a remarkable sense of humor that brightened the lives of everyone around him. He loved to laugh, tease, and joke around, creating an atmosphere of joy and camaraderie.
Those who knew him will forever cherish the warmth and laughter he brought into their lives.
As a devoted family man, George took great pride in being a father to Danny (Jennifer), Marc (Nadine), and Pierre (Brandy).
His role as Pérėre to Émilie, Sarah, Élyse, Alexandra, Ethan, Luke, Rebekah, Madison, and Brianna was one of pure love and guidance.
His legacy of love and support will undoubtedly live on through the generations he leaves behind. George was also a dear brother to Simone Perron (Late Anicet), late Richard Ladouceur, Germaine Ladouceur, Denis (Anne), Louise Ladouceur (Late Joe), and loved brother in-law of Fernand, late Normand, Pauline, Therese, Claude, Raymond and Maurice.
Will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends. George found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. He embraced the tranquility of nature, expressing his love for the outdoors by enjoying activities such as hunting, fishing, and gardening. His appreciation for the beauty of the world extended to his love for birds.
An avid and competitive card player, George's competitive spirit shone through in his leisure time with family. Whether engaged in a friendly game or a heated competition, he approached each moment with enthusiasm and a determination to enjoy life to the fullest.
In retirement, George and his beloved wife Suzanne shared the joy of exploring new destinations, creating cherished memories that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him.
