It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Karl Abel, in his 83rd year, on January 17, 2024, after a sudden and brief illness.

Karl was predeceased by his beloved wife Sylvia in 2017.

He missed her every day.

Proud step-father to Jackie Murphy, Debbie Murphy (Peter Procak), and Ian Murphy (Josie) for almost 50 years.

Devoted Papa to grandchildren Cassandra (Matt), Hailey (Holly), and David (Chelsea), as well as loving Papa2 to great-grandchildren Azaria, Abigail, and James.

Karl was loved here in Canada and by his family in Austria, who sent many messages of prayer and support this past week. He was a very good man, who leaves behind memories of his ready smile and good humour.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Toronto Western Hospital for their excellent care of Karl and our family.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Karl's life, which will be held at the Canterbury Common Residents Association Centre, 127 Waterbury Crescent, Port Perry on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 1:30-3:30 pm.
