KEMLO, Leonard “Skip” Frank Gordon, It is with deep sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Leonard "Skip" Frank Gordon Kemlo on Monday, August 26, 2024, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Skip was the beloved husband of Carol (nee Nixon) for 50 wonderful years. He was a loving and supportive father to his sons, Matt (Jaimee Lea) and Chris (J.J.), and a proud grandfather to Kershaw and C.J., who were the light of his life. Skip will also be fondly remembered by Jagger, Danika, and Stevie Lea. He held a special place in the hearts of Virginia, Paul, and Tyler Breedon, and Victoria Berwick, who affectionately knew him as “Skunkle.”
He will be deeply missed by the Nixon, McGill, Jenkins, and Alder families, as well as by his many dear friends, especially his cherished golf buddies. A special thank you goes to Ron and Roger, who were always there for Skip.
Skip was predeceased by his parents, Jim and Clarice (Bill) Kemlo, and his beloved sister, Patricia Meek. The family extends their gratitude to his dedicated home nurse, Goldie, the PSWs, and the doctors and nurses in the palliative unit for their compassionate care and support.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024, from 12-1 p.m. at Armstrong Funeral Home, located at 124 King St. E., Oshawa. A Celebration of Life will follow in the Chapel at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Marigold Hospice (Clarington) or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Online condolences may be shared at For armstrongfh.ca
