Peacefully at Chapman House Hospice on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. Born in St. Vincent Township on Saturday, May 16, 1931, Laura Margaret Cumming (nee Boyes), of Owen Sound, was in her 94th year.

Beloved wife and best friend of the late Brian Cumming. Loving mother of Holly Sweeney (Tom) of Calgary, Brad Porter (Janet) of Ancaster, Robert Porter (Wanda) of Shallow Lake, Barbara Schultz (James) of Woodstock, Judith MacDougall of Owen Sound and Will Porter of Sauble Beach. Cherished grandmother of 12 grandchildren and great-grandmother of many. Dear sister of Hazel Lavender. Laura will also be missed by her nieces, nephews and friends.

Predeceased by her parents Reg and May Boyes, her infant son Wayne Daniel,her daughter-in-law Jill Porter, her son-in-law Robert MacDougall, her sister Hilda Darcie and her brother Ken Boyes.

A funeral service to celebrate Laura’s life will be held at Rockcliffe,Pentecostal Church, 10 4th Avenue West, Owen Sound, on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. Interment will take place in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492.
