79, passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa at 8:40 a.m., Tuesday, May 9, 2017 with his family at his side.Nick was born November 29, 1937, in Great Ryburgh, England.From England he moved to South Africa where he worked in the hospitality industry. On July 1, 1968, he arrived in Canada which ended up being his home. Nick had a wonderful life and lived it to the fullest.He enjoyed spending time with his family, travelling, watching sports, gardening, reading books and he was also passionate about trains. Nick had a wonderful sense of humour and was loved by all. He will be sorely missed.Survivors include his wife Sue; his 3 children, Mark (Susan), Craig (Raquel) and Claire (Dennis); his 2 step-children, Joyce (Richard) and Jeremy.Also surviving him are his 10 grandchildren, Sariah, Ariel, Jared, Danica, Charlie, Bryce, Bennett, Bo, Zoey and Elly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorcas Pain and Charles Wood, his 2 brothers, Gary and Nigel Thompson-Wood, his first wife, Shirley Thompson-Wood and two children, Simon and Lisa.A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 2 p.m. at All Saints Anglican Church, 300 Dundas Street West, Whitby, Ontario L1N 2M5
