Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at Lakeridge Health Ajax Pickering on Wednesday July 26th, 2017 at the age of 93 years.Predeceased by her husband Al, Nina is the loving mother of Audrey (Bob), Tobi (Bayne) and Bill (Nadine).Predeceased by her son Bob and survived by his wife Wendy.She will be sadly missed by her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.Predeceased by siblings Vera, Florence, Gladys, Rosie, Bill and Albert.Greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.Nina was a “wise old owl” with a passion for poetry.She often recited many passages and literary works from memory with grace and eloquence. She looked forward to socializing with her Thursday "Friends of Friends" Group at the Whitby Seniors Centre and was honoured to participate in annual Remembrance Day ceremonies, reciting poetry for those in attendance.A special thank you to all the staff in the emergency and 4th floor at Lakeridge Health Ajax for all their care and support.A memorial service to celebrate Nina’s life will take place at a later date.Arrangements entrusted to MOUNT LAWN FUNERAL HOME (905 443-3376).In lieu of flowers, donations to Parkinson Canada or the Ontario Federation for Cerebral Palsy would be greatly appreciated.Memories and condolences can be shared online at mountlawn.caIt proudly tells the whole wide world: Nina has moved upstairs.
