RIENSTRA, Arthur Pier Rienstra  -

Arthur (Art) Pier Rienstra of Hastings, Ontario, passed away peacefully on August 13th, 2024.

Born on February 23rd, 1942, in The Netherlands, he was in the 83rd year of an incredibly healthy and well-lived life.

In his final weeks and days he was surrounded by his loving family.

Art was the beloved husband of Lillie Rienstra, cherished father of Barbara, Allan, Sue, and their spouses Todd, Linda, and David. He was the adored grandfather of Samantha, Brian, Tristan, Shelby, Aaron, and Kyle, and great grandfather to Harper, Peyton, and Oaklynn.

He is predeceased by his parents Rients and Tryntsje Rienstra and siblings Johannes, Hendrik, Tryntsje, Antje, Abeta, and Weitske. Art will be remembered fondly by his brothers and sisters Pieter, Luke, Fenna, Herold, Idske, and Michael.

As a devoted husband, supportive father, and wise mentor, he touched the lives of those around him with his kind heart and strong work ethic.

Known for his deep knowledge of mechanics and a remarkable knack for fixing anything, Art was a true problem-solver who could tackle any challenge with skill and determination. His love for the land and commitment to his work were matched only by his dedication to his family, making him a pillar of strength and inspiration to all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Saturday August 17, 2024 from 1pm-3pm followed by a Memorial Service at Northcut Elliott Funeral Home Bowmanville .
