February 13, 1928 - February 2, 2017Passed away peacefully at Champlain Manor, Orillia, surrounded by the love of her family on Thursday, February 2nd, 2017 at the age of 88.Formerly of Oshawa, born and raised in Utrecht, Holland.Beloved wife (war bride) of the late Francis for 57 years.Daughter of the late Alida and Adrianus Mazirel.Loving mother of Alida Wright (Paul), Philip Duffy (Judith) and Christina Watson (late Stephen Watson) (Rick Weiss).Devoted Granny of Jerry (Lyne), Tanya (Aubrey), Laura and Caitlin Duffy, Dylan and Cassandra Watson, Kaitlin and Crystal Weiss. Cherished Great Granny of Jenna, Megan, Matthew, Zachary and Seth.Loving sister of Pater (Rose), Francine (Stanley), Alida (Tom) and Riet (Issac).Thabita will be sadly missed by Tammy Gemon, who was like a daughter to her, also all of her friends and neighbours. Thabita worked for many years at Sklar Peppler and Steelcase Canada.A special thank you to all the staff at Champlain Manor, Orillia, for all their help and support.Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Tuesday, February 14th from 6:00- 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, February 15th from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Thornton Cemetery to follow.Memorial donations to the Humane Society of Durham would be appreciated.
