With profound saddness the family of Tom Russell announce his passing on Thursday August 3rd, 2017 at Sunnybrook Hospital after a valiant battle against brain cancer at the age of 73. Survived by his loving wife Mary Beth his loving wife of 50 years, son Paul and daughter-in-law Julie and cherished granddaughters Kelley and Amber.Survived by his brother Rev. William R. Russell and his wife Sherri of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida and brother-in-law of Bill Gardiner and his wife Betty Jean of Windsor, ON.Predeceased by his brother-in-law Jack Gardiner.Tom will be fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Katherine as well as several nieces and nephews and their families. Visiting at BARNES MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 5295 Thickson Rd. N. Whitby on Wednesday August 9th from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.A celebration of life service will be held in the Barnes Chapel Thursday August 10th at 1:00 p.m.In memory of Tom and in lieu of flowers memorial donations to the GordDownie Fund for Brain Cancer Reasearch (Sunnybrook Cancer Center Foundation).
