(1952-2016) Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 7th, 2016 with his wife and family by his side.Vernon was Vida's beloved husband and best friend for almost 44 years.He was a devoted father to Kay, Dawn, Vern, and a wonderful father-in-law to Asher.Vernon was a cherished grandfather to Kaeden, Kaylia, Deyara and Aliyah. He was selfless, loyal and incredibly generous.In his own words, "I'm not going down without a fight" and he battled cancer to the very end.Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Saturday, December 17th from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m.Vernon's Life Celebration service will be held at COLLEGE PARK SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH (1164 King St. E., Oshawa) on Sunday, December 18th at 11:00 a.m.Thank you to our families, relatives near and far, church family and friends for your love and support throughout this journey!
