February 25, 1919 – July 30, 201697 of Oshawa, passed away July 30th, 2016, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, surrounded by her loving family.She was predeceased by her loving husband William Nickerson of 60 years.Born in Weymouth N.S. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Jenny Hayes (Weaver).She was a stay at home mom, who loved caring for her family.For 23 years she lived with her daughter Kathleen and son in law Jack.Two children predeceased her. Son David and daughter Blanche. She was a member of St. Andrews Church, Oshawa and Weymouth United. Surviving are her children, Gerald (Annette) of Cobourg, ON, Della (Ewart) of Weymouth, N.S., Arthur (Sandy) of Kingston, ON., Florence of New River Beach N.B., Irene of Hamilton, ON., Kathleen and Jack of Oshawa, ON., Joyce (Eugene) of Keswick, ON., George (Judy) of Oshawa, ON., Gladys (Robert) of Bowmanville, ON. 32 Grandchildren, 54 Great Grandchildren, 12 Great Great Grandchildren.Lovingly remembered by her surviving brothers & sisters, and many nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Edie of Calgary, and brother David Hayes of Weymouth.A Memorial Service is being held at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME 124 King Street East, Oshawa on Monday August 8, 2016 at 1pm.Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time starting at 12pm. Burial in Brethel United Cemetery Weymouth N.S. at a later date.Donations to Heart & Stroke and Cancer Society in lieu of flowers will be appreciated by the family.
