It is with heavy hearts we announce the death of Wayne Oscar Morin at the Espanola Regional Hospital on July 24, 2024 at the age of 78.
Wayne was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was born in Espanola to Wilfred and Doreen (Leblanc) Morin on March 31, 1946, the youngest of 4 children.
Wayne moved with his family at a young age but returned to Espanola with his wife Rona in 1968 to join the Espanola Police Department. He remained in Espanola and with Rona raised their children, Terry (Tammy) Espanola, Crystal (Colin) Barbados, and Brendan (Trillium) Espanola.
He leaves behind his 4 adored grandchildren, Darian, Landon, Declan and Riley.
Also surviving him is one brother, Donald (late Linda) and many sisters and brothers in law. He was a favourite uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents, brother Gerald (Angie) and sister Mona (late Claude).
In 1980 Wayne suffered a life altering brain aneurysm and despite the challenges this raised for him he maintained his quick wit and sense of humour. He was a beloved hockey coach in his younger years and enjoyed moose hunting, fishing and camping.
Special thank you to all of the nurse angels at the Espanola Regional Hospital who took such loving care of Wayne over the past months as well as to Dr. Ainslie and all of the doctors who were involved in his care.
Family and friends are invited to join us for a Celebration of Life to be held on Thursday August 8th from 1:30 -4:00pm at the Espanola Legion.
If desired donations can be made to the Espanola Regional Hospital Foundation, The Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice. Arrangements by BOURCIER FUNERAL HOME Ltd, Espanola.
