It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of John Clayton.
After a long and courageous battle with cancer, John passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, at Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital on January 15, 2024 at 12:04 am.
John is survived by his wife Lorna and his children Cindy (Harry), Tania (Lesley) and Cara-Lynn (Ron), his grandchildren Devon, Ryan, Jordan, Brandon, Faith, Brianna, Graedon, Sarah, Blake, Nicholas, Nathan, Bradley and Joshua and his great grandchildren Lauren and Bowen.
He will be fondly remembered by many family members including numerous nephews and nieces.
John was born in Toronto, Ontario on March 28, 1947.
He grew up on a farm in Beaverton with his mother Mary Adams (nee Clayton) and his siblings Ross (predeceased), Harold, Phyllis, Gwen, Melvin and Ralph.
In his earlier years he worked as an Emergency Medical Attendant for Beaverton Ambulance, part-time for Bullock & Pinkham Funeral Home and later for Mangan Funeral Home.
He and his wife Betty (predeceased) owned Beaverton Florist and Gifts.
John then retired at the age of 67 years old from CBM in Sunderland.
On behalf of John, his family would like to extend a heartfelt and sincere thank you to the Nursing Staff on C5 at O.S.M.H as well as Dr. Doan, Dr. Greenberg,
Dr. Campbell, Dr. Smith, Dr. Kemsley and many other professionals who all went above and beyond to provide John with the most amazing care and respect.
Visitation will be held at the Mangan Funeral Home on Wednesday January 24th from 1 P.M until time of memorial service in the chapel at 2 P.M. Interment to be held at a later date.
If so desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
