June Elaine Wagner

Passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 7th, at Ross Memorial Hospital.

She was comforted by a friend while listening to lovely music with her favourite blanket nearby.

June was predeceased by her husband John.

They had 64 years of a wonderful loving marriage. She will be missed by their children Doug (Buffy), Caroline (Jason) and their grandchildren Lauren (Aaron), Erin, and Olivia.

She was a loving aunt to 3 generations of nieces and nephews and got such joy from having visits with her recent great-grandson, Wyatt. June was born in Toronto and was so proud to be a Bridgman.

She loved her big brothers Don and Bob (deceased). She learned the way of retail by helping in her father’s jewellery and gift store in Toronto and that served her well when she found part time jobs when they moved to Sunderland. She met John at a very young age as her father was John’s Scout leader and they both attended the same church (St. James Bond United).

They married May 24th, 1957 in Toronto and made the move to Sunderland for a quieter life in 1977.

June lived a life of taking care of others, her father and mother, mother-in-law and her “Johnny”.

She helped John with his newspaper, The Sunderland News Reporter, and printing business.

She especially enjoyed volunteering with the UCW at Sunderland United Church and Eastern Star. She loved being involved with the wonderful community and made great friends with so many while doing so.

June spent her last few years at Lakeland Village in Lindsay.

We are grateful to the staff at Lakeland for helping with all her health needs. In addition, we are grateful to The Purple House and Silver Lights for providing care and fellowship.

June desperately missed John and only wanted to be with him again. You will be missed by us here, but so blessed to know you are with your Johnny again.

The family will be making arrangements for a small graveside service in the next few months.

If desired, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
