Loving mother of Oleh (Jennifer), Katherina (Aubrey) and Olexander (Danaka).

Cherished Babusya of Larysa, Alexis, Alexander, Jonah, and Anna.

Luba sang with the Club Lorelei Singers, the Ukrainian Choir, Trembita, and with St. John the Baptist church choir.

She was a dedicated teacher of both Sadochok (kindergarten) and Ukrainian Studies for many years.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2024, from 5-8 p.m. at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME (124 King St. E., Oshawa) with Panachyda at 7 p.m.

A Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Orthodox Church (31 Bloor St. E.). Interment St. Volodymyr & St. Olha Cemetery. A memorial meal will be held at St. John the Baptist Church hall following the burial service.

Len is survived by his wife of 60 years Rita (nee Coffey), his son Cyril (Karen), his daughters Jennifer and Linda (Brian) Mowat.

Loving "Pop" to Bryan (Samantha), Brandon, Jacob, Erin, Chantel (Damon), Olivia.

Two great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his cherished mother Jessie, sisters Joy, Minna, Daisy (Audrey), Josephine, and Vina and brothers Al, Cyril, and Leuvern.

Leonard was the youngest of 9 children.

Len was a crane operator for CP Rail for 33 years and was an avid model train enthusiast.

Len and Rita met in Toronto and raised their family in Bay Ridges, Pickering to finally retire in Newcastle.

They enjoyed many summers at their vacation home looking out at the ocean, in Grates Cove, Newfoundland. Private Services.

Lorne entered into rest with his family by his side on Thursday May 9, 2024 after a prolonged battle with vascular dementia.

Lorne is survived by his wife of 47 years, Darlene, and his sons, Scott (Melissa), Curtis, and Lorne JR (Nancy).

Proud and loving Grandpa of Vanessa, Alison, Addison, David, Miriam, and Hugh.

Predeceased by his Mom & Dad, Ileen and Ivan Hunter from Gooderham, and his brother Jim Hunter. Survived by his sister Gayle Thrift (Bill) from Calgary.

Lorne, a retired police officer, dedicated his career to community involvement, serving 42 years in the Whitby detachment with the Ontario Provincial Police.

For his distinguished service, he received medals and awards from the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, Lincoln Alexander, and Solicitor General of Ontario, Allan Pilkey.

In addition to his active duty, he was an organizer of the Durham Region Police old-timers hockey team and was involved in numerous community sports organizations as a hockey coach and baseball player.

Prior to his career as a police officer, Lorne joined the Canadian Air Force in 1966 and was stationed in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, as an airborne electrician.

Lorne had a profound enthusiasm for building, repairing and maintaining almost everything, teaching us all how to be self-sufficient. His friendly presence will be profoundly missed by all those who knew him.

To honour Lorne’s memory, a donation may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Durham Region. A special thank you to the amazing staff and volunteers of Hillsdale Estates, Honey Harbour, for their loving care and support.

Visitation will be held at MOUNT LAWN FUNERAL HOME, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby, on Sunday, May 19, 2024, from 11:00a.m. until 1:00p.m., followed by a service to celebrate his life at 1:00 p.m.

Reception to follow in the Arbor Lounge from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.

She worked for years as a Co-ordinator of Public Inquiries for the Ministry of the Attorney General.

Laureen and her spouse, Derek White, have been together since 2010 and recently retired to Stirling.

She is survived by spouse, Derek; her mother, Jeanne; siblings, Mark (Jeanie, Peter, Taylor, McKenzie), K.C. (Laura), and Holly (George); her neices and nephews, Sean (Michelle, Cooper, Maxem), Luke, Evan, Charlotte, Sam, Lucie, Ryan and Ben. She was preceded in death by father, Edward and partner, Michael Oley.

Laureen will always be remembered for her incredible kindness to all living things.

She will be deeply missed by all. At present the family is dealing with their grief privately and will reach out when further arrangements are finalized.

She passed peacefully surrounded by her family and was welcomed by her granddaughter, Jenna Butler, who already gained her angel wings.

Lynn was loving mother of Christine Butler (Mike), Michelle Riederer (Brian), and Mike Langlois (Tricia) and proud grandmother to Jake (Lucas), Alexis (Nik), Breanna, Nathan, Madison, and Kylie.

Lynn was born in Amherstburg, ON, daughter of the late Robert and Beatrice Thrasher, and sister to Chip Thrasher (Elise).

She will be deeply missed by her long-time friends Beverly, Cindy, Alex, her fur baby Bobbi and the Yahtzee gang.

As per Lynn’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and the family will be having a private celebration.

Roy passed away at home, surrounded by his family, after a brief but courageous battle with Brain Cancer on Saturday April 20th, 2024 on his favorite date… “420”.

Roy leaves behind his loving wife Cindy Carroll, his beloved children Margaret Watts (Cole) and Dylan. And last but not least, and much to his dismay, Roy was outlived by his best friend…the damn dog Malibu.

Survived by his sisters Margaret (the late Murray), Cathy, Bette, Jo Anne and Jane (Herb).

Predeceased by his brother Richard.

Roy will be sadly missed by his many family, friends and weed suppliers.

Those that knew Roy marveled at how much weed he was actually able to enjoy on a daily basis.

Roy will leave a huge void with all of his brothers & sisters at IATSE Local 873 Union where he made many friendships over his 28 years, standing strong together.

He was proud of his career and loved working with his peers and friends throughout the years.

Roy has cherished working on his ’56 Chevy over the past 12 years, it is almost road ready and he was happy to know it was finally able to start, hearing it one last time, before he passed away.

Roy was a long time darts player in many leagues over the years and taught his kids the game as well.

Roy was a lifelong supporter of the Toronto Maple Leafs and watched their first playoff game on his last night.

Finally, and most importantly, Roy’s family was everything to him.

Please join with the family to Celebrate a Life Well Lived, albeit too short, on Sunday April 28th, Visitation will be held from 2pm to 4pm followed by a Service in the Chapel at 4pm at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa. Cremation to follow.
