Mum passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, in her 90th year. She joins her beloved husband Vlado. Lovingly remembered by her sons: Nicholas (Nancy), Andrew (Margaret), and Christopher (Alison). Very proud and devoted grandmother of Gregory, Maia, William, and Teddy. Jill was predeceased by her sister Diana and brother Kenneth.

Jill loved teaching Junior Kindergarten at Annette Street Public School, introducing children to their start in school. Her classroom was always a place of colour, texture, and experience.

Mum had many hobbies, including pottery with Pops, knitting, crocheting, quilting, cooking, and baking (her massive cookbook collection as evidence). Despite no discernible order, she always knew where to find a particular recipe! She enjoyed stays at the cottage, swimming even up to a cottage closure at Thanksgiving. She loved her guinea pigs, cats, Britcoms, Marks & Spencer biscuits, POLO candies, and the occasional cider or gin & tonic.

Mum cherished her time in Britain and warmly welcomed family and friends who visited there. She loved hearing from her grandchildren and learning about their adventures. Despite the trials and tribulations of aging, she never lost her ability to enjoy the moment.

Mum will be lovingly remembered and always missed by her family and friends.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to McEachnie Funeral Home. A private family service will be held in the Spring.

Cheers Mum and Laku noć.

Memories and notes of condolence may be shared at McEachnie Funeral Home.

In Loving Memory

It is with deepest sorrow we announce the sudden passing of Adam McNeil.

Adam was born in March 1991 and passed in November 2024. He is survived by his parents, Lorne and Mari-Lynne; brother Jason; future sister-in-law Rachel; and grandmother Louise (Morris) McNeil. Adam is predeceased by his loving grandparents: Brenton McNeil, Joan (Davenport) White, and John White.

At a young age, Adam developed a love of hockey and would often wake his parents several hours early to head to the rink. As he grew older, he loved to fish—though if the fish were biting at 6 AM, Adam preferred to arrive by noon. He also enjoyed hunting but was always in favor of a later start.

Adam ensured everyone felt included and valued. He had a gift for making people feel heard and safe. He enjoyed researching current events and discussing them; while he might not agree with your position, he would listen and agree to disagree.

Adam lived life on his terms, always considerate of others. Rest in peace, my son. You will be the first one I see when I get there.

In Loving Memory Of

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved, Marie-Josée Roussety (née Jolicoeur), on November 30, 2024, at the age of 84. She entered into the presence of the Lord after living with Alzheimer’s Disease for several years.

A faithful servant of God, Marie-Josée leaves us a sincere and loving person whose kindness was certainly felt by others.

Marie-Josée was born on May 26, 1940, in Rose Hill, Mauritius. Known for her love of books from a young age, she carried this passion into adulthood and used it to inspire her dreams. She worked for fifteen years in the travel industry at Rogers & Co. Ltd., eventually being promoted to Chief Sales Officer in 1979 before moving to Canada in December 1980. She and her husband, Clement, lived in North York, Scarborough, Whitby, and Oshawa, sharing many wonderful years traveling to warm, sunny destinations. She also loved hosting large family gatherings, always making room for everyone.

Marie-Josée will be lovingly remembered by her husband of fifty years, Clement; her children Didier (Tammy), Jean-Yves (Linda), Catherine (Gabriel), and Christopher (Tijana); her nine grandchildren, Natalie, Annick, Stephan, Valerie, Marc, Andrew, Sean, Leila, and Julien; and great-grandson Liam. She is survived by her sister Edwige and predeceased by her parents Annette and Iders, as well as her siblings Myriam, Sydney, and Max.

Her infectious laugh, generosity, and affectionate personality will be greatly missed by all.

The Memorare:

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known
that anyone who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help,
or sought thy intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence
I fly unto thee,
O Virgin of virgins, my Mother.
To thee do I come,
before thee I stand,
sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in thy mercy hear and answer me.
Amen.

Obituary for William Otto Christopher (Chris) Miller

William Otto Christopher (Chris) Miller passed away peacefully on the morning of November 29, 2024, at Sunnybrook Veterans Centre. Chris made the most of his nearly 99 years, living his life to the fullest and making positive contributions, large and small, along the way.

His passion for exploring the outdoors, his endless curiosity for people, engineering, and law all brought him joy. Logan Lake held a particularly strong place in his heart, as did the people and his work at Blakes. One of his quiet yet profound sources of pride was his service as a paratrooper in World War II.

Chris had a natural ability to connect with people from all walks of life, engaging them with genuine interest and attention. Football wove an interesting thread through his life: the army brought him to play in the CFL's Grey Cup game in 1942 in the self-described position of "West Sideline," and Sunday morning touch football with Blakes colleagues provided him with lasting connections.

The greatest love of his life was his wife, Mary Anne Miller (Currie), with whom he shared countless adventures. Chris’s children—Anne-Frances (Ganpathy Murthy), Ross, Sheila, and Martha—were deeply loved, as were his grandchildren, Shankar and Ananth. He is also survived by his brother, Jack.

Chris will be remembered for his smile, the glint in his eyes, his intellect, his love for nature, his hearty laughter, and his endless capacity to eat ice cream.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to his care team, including Dr. Advani, Dr. Feiner, St. Michael's Hospital, and the wonderful staff at Sunnybrook Veterans Centre.

Plans are underway for a personal and informal gathering to remember Chris on Sunday, December 29th, 2024. Updates will be posted here.
