Hazel Irene Garrow (nee Macklin) of Toronto (formerly of Belleville).
Born in Scarborough in 1930, Hazel grew up on a farm, later graduating with a degree in physiotherapy from the University of Toronto in 1951.
She worked as a physiotherapist in both Canada and the United States where she lived for twenty years.
Returning to Canada in retirement, Hazel enthusiastically pursued many interests, joining the Belleville Curling Club and Belleville Duplicate Bridge Club, where she served on the executive and earned a Life Master.
She was an avid swimmer, travelled extensively and engaged in current affairs and politics.
Hazel shared her later years with family, encouraging and supporting her grandchildren in their academic and sporting endeavours while taking great pride in their accomplishments.
Hazel is survived by her daughters, Marion Garrow (Rob Barnes) and Jean Garrow (Paul McLaughlin).
Also survived by her grandsons, Duncan Barnes (Daniela Rodriguez), Graeme Barnes (Hayley McKay), Kieran Barnes, her granddaughters, Rachel McLaughlin (Dan Carroll), Sarah McLaughlin Seymour (Jon Seymour), and her great-grandchildren, Myles and Sasha Seymour along with several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband, Edward (Bob) Garrow, her sister, Shirley Macklin and by her brother and sister-in-law, Allan and Barbara Macklin.

Helen, 83 years, of Pickering, Ontario, passed away February 1, 2024, after a short battle with cancer.
She was born on February 24, 1940 in Toronto to Elsie and Gerald Trinier.
She is survived by husband, George (married 66 years); her 3 daughters, Wendy (Marty), Jackie and Karen; 4 grandchildren, Mandee, Ryan, Lianne and Taylor; and 5 great-grandchildren.
She attended East York Collegiate and worked for Reader's Digest as a sales representative.
She was an avid reader, loved gardening and enjoyed spending peaceful time at the cottage on Kamaniskeg Lake in Barry's Bay.
She was a member of the Madawaska Valley Horticultural Society, Barry's Bay Senior's Club, The Pickering Notables Choir and the Durham Regional Police Choir.
A celebration of life will be held at Discovery Place Recreation Centre (1890 Valley Farm Rd.), on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.
A private interment will follow at a later date.

Heather Anne Holland died in her sleep after a brave & courageous 8 year battle with cancer on January 24th, 2024 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.
Heather is the daughter of Orville and the late Barbara Holland.
She will be sadly missed by her Father, brother Blake (Shannon), nieces Megan (Craig) and Carly, great niece Rory, friend Hugh, her 2 coffee groups, her dog Buddy as well as at the annual Holland family luncheon.
Heather graduated from Centennial College as a PSW in 1999 and pursued her career in Niagara and Durham Regions until cancer ended her career in 2016. Special thanks to Dr. Kassirer, nurse Alexis, PSW Nancy and the staff at St. Elizabeth Home Care.
Heather has been cremated and a family funeral will take place in the spring.

Herb’s life was full and interesting.
Born at the beginning of World War 2 in Braunschweig, Germany, Herb spent his first five years with his mother and four siblings 500 kilometres from their home in Volklingen.
Herb is survived by Katie, his wife of 47 years, and sons Robert (Nicole), Christopher (Debbie) and Gregory. He is Opa to grandchildren Isabelle, Harrison and Everett. Our son, Karl (1977), predeceased him on August 25, 2023.
Herb will be missed by Katie’s siblings and by many nieces and nephews and their families in Canada and in Germany.
He was the last surviving Probst in his generation. Herb’s life was very active in a variety of community and church based groups, including Knights of Columbus, Brock Community Care and Kinsmen.
He was also active in youth sports for many years, volunteering as a Coach and Manager for his son’s teams and a chauffeur for his sons and grandchildren.
Herb overcame many surgeries and health challenges with tenacity and will power.
Sadly, Herb suffered a massive stroke on January 13th . Father Michael, Katie and Christopher said the prayers for the Sacrament for the Dying and he was anointed with Holy Oils.
His family gathered at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, communicated their love for him and said their good-byes. He died on January 19th in the afternoon. Rest in Peace, Herb.
Visitation will be held at the Mangan Funeral Home, Beaverton on Friday January 26th from 2-4P.M. and 6-8 P.M. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Woodville on Saturday January 27th at 11A.M. Reception to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Woodville from 12-2 P.M.

Hildred “Heidi” (nee Driver), beloved wife of the late Gerald King Cushing.
Heidi was born in Toronto on March 13, 1924.
She joined the Woman’s Royal Canadian Naval Service (WRENS) in 1942 and served in Canada and Washington D.C.
She retired as a Supervisor from Canada Post in 1986.
Left to mourn her loss is her daughter Anne Renwick (Robert), granddaughter Arlene Goode (Bradley), grandsons Andrew D’Arcy (Jordi), and Kevin D’Arcy (Samantha) and great grandchildren William and Hannah Goode, Scarlett, Amelia, Jack, and Evelyn D’Arcy (Andrew) and Veronica D’Arcy (Kevin) and last but not least her beloved cat “Miss Sophie”.
Rested at the Wagg Funeral Home, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry. Private interment Pine Grove Cemetery, Prince Albert.

It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Henk Hartog of Ajax, ON, at the age of 96.
Henk passed away peacefully in his sleep at Oshawa Hospital on the morning of Saturday, January 13, 2024.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Gertruda (Grace).
Dearly loved father of Ron (Diana), Peter and John (Leanne).
Proud grandfather of Tim (Erica), Mathew (Sheri), Crystal (Guido), Zachary and Ariel and great-grandfather to Caiden, Emma, Sawyer, and Matteo.
Henk was a dedicated and hardworking man.
He loved his family and he loved his garden and he always worked tirelessly taking care of both. His family will always remember him with gratitude and love.
In keeping with Henk’s wishes a private family service will be held. Cremation to follow.
