58 of Ajax. "Our Angel on earth has gone home."
Peacefully with her family by her side, Karen MacDonald gained her Angel wings on November 15, 2023.
She is survived by her loving husband and partner in life of 32 years, Tim, as well as her beloved children Joshua and Cassandra.
Karen lived her life to the fullest, caring and fiercely advocating for her family and community.
Her passion for helping those differently abled shined through in her work with "For the Love of a Child" children's charity as well as many other organizations.
She touched countless lives through her many endeavours including, her home daycare, respite work, charity involvement, and volunteer outreaches such as the Canadian Down Syndrome Society and Variety Village.
Karen was a warrior, valiantly fighting and surviving a genetic life-threatening liver disease which thankfully culminated in a live-donor transplant over a decade ago.
Her greatest joy was to be able to watch as her children grew into the loving, caring adults that she adored.
Karen never let anyone feel like a stranger and was kind to everyone she met. Her friends became family and she loved them with her whole heart. She will be sadly missed by all her family and extended family.
A celebration of life will be held at Sanctus Church, 599 Bayly St. E, Ajax on Saturday December 9th @ 11:00 am
