It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Frederick Joseph Foley, beloved husband, father and grandfather, who lost his rather short battle with leukaemia on March 30, 2023 at the age of 74.
His battle showed his courage in facing life’s challenges with a smile.
Fred was born on March 28, 1949 in Colliers, Newfoundland to Patrick and Margaret Foley. He lost his parents from a young age and learned very early on how to be self sufficient. He was smart, driven and determined to make something of himself, regardless of the challenges life threw at him.
Fred met Carolyn in 1972 and they married on December 29, 1973 and went on to have 4 children; Sean, Tammy, Melissa & Jessica. He will be missed by his wife of 49 years, Carolyn; children, Tammy, Melissa (Jamie) and Jessica (Michael); Daughter in law, Elizabeth; grandchildren, Amber, Megan, Abby, Marlie, Lacey, Logan, Madelyn, Brody, Jack, Charlotte and Grace; Brother, Raymond (Virginia) as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

Fred had a zest for life that was contagious. His words of wisdom, sense of humour and overall kindness was infectious and was sure to make anyone in the room smile.
Fred was a fighter and even on his last days found enough energy to tell stories and laugh with his loved ones. His charismatic personality will be greatly missed by all of us.
