Irene passed away peacefully at home on September 21, 2021, surrounded by family and loved ones at the age of 71 after a courageous 2-year battle with cancer.
Irene never stopped fighting, as she was determined to stay strong and demonstrate what inner strength and bravery truly look like for those she loved.
Those who knew and loved Irene will remember her as a kind and gentle woman with the warmest of hearts and a smile that could light up any room.
Throughout her life, Irene’s constant selflessness, kindness, patience, understanding, and integrity were an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Irene’s most treasured moments consisted of time spent with those she loved: her husband, her beloved family, and her countless friends.
With her cherished husband Bohdan, they established roots in Oshawa where they raised their 3 children and were active volunteers within the local Ukrainian community.
When away from home, quality time was often spent at their trailer in Madoc where they enjoyed the community and a tranquil view of the lake.
Irene was a constant source of inspiration to her 3 children, instilling strong morals, values, and a sense of community/culture throughout their lives.
Irene absolutely adored her three grandchildren who couldn’t wait to spend time with their beloved “Baba”.
She was always willing to provide support and lend a helping hand.
