It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Frances McKenzie, on Monday, March 6, 2023, in the company of her loved ones.

She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald.

Beloved mother of Raymond (Cheryl), Carl (Kellee), Gerald (Sherry-Ann) and Mary (Troy). Survived by her siblings, Shirly (Doug), Hilda (predeceased by Don), Dolores (James), Barbara (Phil), Harold (Glenna) and Derrick (Jane); and was predeceased by her sister, Lillian (Fred).

Frances will be greatly missed by her nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Her contagious laugh and kind-hearted spirit will be sincerely missed.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at THORNTON FUNERAL CENTRE, 1200 Thornton Rd. N., Oshawa (905-579-6787), from 11 a.m. until time of service in the chapel at 12 p.m., with burial to follow.

Passed away suddenly in his sleep on Monday March 6, 2023, at the age of 72.

He was a loving husband of Jennie (Gem) for 42 years, devoted father of Floyd, Jennie-Ann, Frank Jr. (Sessilia), proud grandfather of 6, and brother to 17 siblings.

Frank first arrived in Canada in 1970 to represent the St. Vincent & Grenadine Police Band.

As a young police officer he followed in his father’s footsteps to help immigrate his family to Canada.

Frank, who belonged to several organizations, was not only an advocate for higher education, but also placed great value on maintaining relationships.

He enjoyed playing cards, cricket, music, being up-to-date on current news and engaging in a good debate.

Frank had a great sense of humour and would often express his love with a joke. He was the President of the Union Island Association of Toronto, President of the Rogers Workers Union, and a pillar of the community.

Frank was seen as a leader and collaborator for the Wilson family and extended family. Frank will be remembered with a smile by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Tuesday, March 14th from 6 – 8 p.m. Memorial service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, March 15th at 10:30 a.m.

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our much loved Frank Devera, on January 24, 2023, at the age 94.

Beloved and cherished husband of the late Kay.

Adored father of Leon (Karen), Donna (Herman) and Andrew (Kimberly).

Loved Dziadziu of his grandchildren Tammy (Paul), Matthew (Krista), Veronica (Jason), Andrew (Ann), Eric, Jason (Stephanie), Steven and great grandchildren Andrew, Kelly, Justin, Dylan, Nate, Jackson, Luke, Lauren, Zackary, and Hudson.

Frank was born in Frydman, Czechoslovakia and he made his way to Toronto where he met his wife Kay.

He worked for Pilkington Glass Company for 40 years, first as a glass cutter then as a fork lift driver. He raised 3 children in Scarborough and at his beloved cottage at White Lake (formerly known as Dummer Lake) before moving to Bowmanville.

There he loved to garden both vegetables and flowers.

After his wife passed he moved to White Lake. Frank enjoyed going for drives and visiting with his family and friends. He was completely devoted to his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

Friends may call at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME , 124 King Street East Oshawa, for Visitation on Thursday February 2nd from 7pm to 9pm with rosary at 8 pm.

Funeral Mass at St. Hedwig’s Polish Catholic Church on Friday February 3rd at 2pm. Interment to follow at Thornton Cemetery.

60, of Oshawa passed away on Monday January 9th, 2023 peacefully with her family by her side after a courageous battle against cancer.

Married to her spouse William (Bill) in their 40th year of marriage.

Dolly is survived by her three children Billy (Sarah), Trevor (Maria), Celine (Clayton), and six grandchildren Keegan, Ryan, Jaiden, Kaia, Addisen, and Declan.

Dolly was an excellent wife, mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. She was more than happy to be the central figure in the lives of her children.

Anyone who knew them knew that she was a star in their eyes, and that’s all that ever mattered to her. Despite her large family, Dolly always provided support and love for everyone.

At this time, there will be no funeral service, with a celebration of life determined later.

In lieu of flowers, Dolly wishes for donations towards the Durham Regional Cancer Centre.
