Great Grandpa of Nevaeh, Kilian and Letty. Loving Brother-in-law of Wilfred (Pat), Irene and Bernice. Predeceased by his parents Karl and Margaret, Anton and Theresa, daughter Linda, sisters Betty (Tony), Margaret, Brothers Leonard (Eva), Joe (Doreen), Charlie (Maxine), Rynold and Bill (Irene).
Brother-in-law Of Ed (Loretta), John and Betty. Frank will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Frank was a longtime member of St. Philips and Holy Cross Parish, and an active Knights of Columbus member. Frank was an honoured recipient of the Queen’s award for Voluntary Service, for his numerous years of service in Knights of Columbus TV Bingo, Meals On Wheels, St. Vincent de Paul, Big Brothers.
A proud 150-time blood donator. He will be remembered for his active involvement in baseball until age 75.
After retirement, he could be found back in Saskatchewan on the farm during harvest season.

Visitation will be held at the DeStefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa, on Tuesday December 27th, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Cross Parish, Oshawa on Wednesday December 28th at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in Whitby.

1945 - 2022
On December 14th, Frank Pimpinella passed away after fighting illness for a short time.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 57 years, Barbara (Mulhall), his three children Ronald (Ron) and partner Sue, Brenda and husband Brian and Robert (Bob) and wife Krista; his four granddaughters Kirsten, Victoria, Hannah and Vanessa; his two great grandchildren Ela and Atlas as well as his extended family and friends and family dog Rosie.
He was the son of the late Luciano Pimpinella and Pasqualina (Morlando) and loving brother to his two sisters, Rose (Favero) and Sandra (Bond) as well as his many nieces and nephews.
Frank was a strong and committed man, both to his family and to his work. He enjoyed good health for the majority of his life and family members remember him as a being as strong and stubborn as a Bull, who could do anything he set his mind to right up to the time of his illness.
He continued to work as a hairdresser from the age of 16 right up to one week prior to his illness at the age of 77.
His clients adored him (think Warren Beatty in Shampoo) and often commented to family about how lucky we were to have him.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A private celebration for family and friends will be held at a later date.
October 18, 1941 - December 6, 2022
Peacefully passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, at the age of 81.
Beloved husband of Margaret for 56 years.
Loving father of Claude Jr., the late Thérèse, Jayson (Colleen) and Cameron.
Cherished grandfather of Matthew, Paige, Samantha (Kyle), Megan, Calem, Olivia, Jayme and Kaitlin and great-grandfather of Brooke, Matthew, Henry, Aaliyah and Kobe.
Dear brother of Francoise (Marcel), Marc and Ghislaine and brother-in-law of Myriam.
Predeceased by his parents Leopold and Thérèse and his siblings Jacques, Michel, and Monique.
Francois was a hardworker, who loved his job.
He truly loved his family and always took care of them.

It is with great sadness that the family of Frederick Lindsay born August 30, 1932 in Edinburgh, Scotland announce his passing on December 5, 2022 at Lakeridge Health – Oshawa in his 91st year.

In her 100th year, Fern Catherine Schad passed peaceful in her sleep on Sunday November 20th, at Golden Plough Lodge nursing home. Fern was born on June 1st, 1923 in Toronto, ON.
She is now reunited with her beloved late husband, Richard Gordon Schad, whom predeceased her in 1997.
Richard and Fern were married in 1942 and celebrated 55 years together.
Survived by her 4 children, Carolyn Rienstra (Luke), Kathryn Besco (Randolph), Darlene Byng, Gordon (Patrice), 14 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her sister, Welma (Jack).
Fern was a founding member of Westminster United Church in Whitby and was an active and committed member of the congregation until her passing.
A funeral service for Fern will be held Friday, November 25, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Westminister United Church, 1850 Rossland Road East, Whitby, Ontario.
A burial at MOUNT LAWN CEMETERY will occur Monday, November 28, 2022 at 1:00 PM.
Fern has requested any donations in her memory be forwarded to Westminster United Church.

He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, especially his great nephew Drew, who shared a strong bond with his “Huddy”.

Freda was born in Avoca, Quebec to Walter and Minnie Kelly (nee Mott).
Survived by her loving sister, Lorna Young. Pre-deceased by her four brothers, Donald (Ella), Gerald (Grace), Harry, Jonathan, Phemie. The name Freda means ‘peace, very much suited to mom’s personality.
Proud Nan to 7 grandchildren Scott (Shirley), Heidi (Pierre), Abbie (Mathieu), Gordie (Louise), Kelly (Gavin), Rudy (Joy), Whitney (Dale) and 10 great-grandchildren Jade, Jeremy, Adrian, Rosalie, Gabryelle, Willow, Brooke, Oakley, Jackson, Alice.
Mom lived through so much in the 9-centuries she was here – WW11, social standard changes, the changing world of technology. Mom soldiered bravely and gracefully through a hip replacement and COVID-19, ever practical, rarely complaining, still positive.
Mom’s passion was her family.
Freda will be truly missed by close friend and companion, Murray Dunn. M&M is what we called Mom & Murray. M&M became excellent companions and it was a comfort knowing they had each other.
Thank you, mom for all the amazing ways you have touched the lives of your family.
Cremation has taken place. A small, private family service will be held.

On Friday November 11th Fred was reunited with the love of his life, Patricia.
Together they shared a life filled with adventure, friendship, family, and above all, a profound love for one another.
Fred spent his final years caring for Pat with unwavering devotion, and his adoration and commitment to her continued for the remainder of his days.
Fred was a character who loved to share the stories of his life.
From the shipyards of Belfast, travelling the world in the Merchant Navy, studying Mechanical Engineering at Strathclyde University, and many years spent in leadership roles across the Nuclear Industry, he had endless tales to tell – always delivered with a sense of humour like no other.
Beloved husband and best friend to Pat for 50 years and beyond. Proud father of Jason (Rhonda), Paul (Kelly), Adam (Sarah) and Ashley (Mark).
Granda of Connor, Brodie, Abbie, Molly, Finn, Cole, Ollie, Jane, Sam and Maisie. Fred will be remembered by his family for his strength as a father, the delight he took in playing pranks to entertain the grandkids (and himself), and of course the love he had for Pat.
Memories of happy times will remain in our hearts and knowing that he is at peace with Pat will heLp us heal and celebrate the incredible man that he was.
A Celebration of Fred’s life will be held on Sunday November 20th from 1:00 – 4:00 pm at THE ADMIRAL'S WALK CLUBHOUSE, 90 Shipway Avenue, Newcastle.

It is with heavy hearts that the Hogarth family announce the passing of Fred Hogarth.
Fred passed away peacefully at the age of 78 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre in the late hours of November 5th, 2022.
Fred leaves behind his lifelong partner and love of his life of 63 years, Barbara, and three children, James (Kate Kelly), David (Anne Robinson), and Michelle (Guy Dormon).
Cherished Papa of 6 grandkids, Christopher (Corinne), Heather (Dave), Kourtney (Matthew), Matthew (Maddison), Nicholas (Sy), and Michael (Megan). Amazing Big Papa (Great- Grandfather) to 5 Great-Grandchildren; Charlotte, Hallie, Blake, Grayson, and Maple.
As well as his beloved shih tzu, Shawni, and
budgie JJ.
Fred has been reunited with his parents, Fred and Lydia Hogarth, his brother Harold (Faye), sisters Helen (Harold) and Barbara (George), and all his beloved 4-legged animals including, Tasha, Brandi, and Yawni.
Fred will also be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Fred grew up in Oshawa, Ontario, and spent his younger years with Barb in Maple Grove and then 35 Years in Bowmanville. Fred started at General Motors in 1963 and retired with 34.1 years of service in 1994.
During the summers, Fred and Barb created wonderful memories with their children and grandchildren at Melody Bay in Buckhorn for 38 years and on their Sunray boat, named Frebar. Fred and Barb have enjoyed the past 19 years of retirement in their beloved “Castle” in Apsley.
Fred’s sense of humour and infectious smile will be greatly missed by all those he has touched.
The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Peterborough Regional Health Centre and to his home care nurse Deb Parks for all the care and compassion that was provided to him.
As per Fred’s wishes, a celebration of life will be held at his “Castle” in Apsley at a later date.

Frank passed away peacefully, in Whitby, on October 23rd, 2022.
He was in his 92nd year.
Frank was born on October 26, 1930 in Edinburgh, Scotland and served as a Chief Petty Officer in the British Royal Navy during the Korean War.
In 1954 Frank married Elizabeth (Betty) Gourlay and lived in Bathgate, Scotland, raising their daughter Anne and twin sons Ian and Allan.
The decision was made to emigrate to Canada and the Spring of 1963 saw the young family relocate to Whitby, Ontario.
Frank began working for The City of Oshawa in 1965 and stayed with the Recreation Division until his retirement in 1994.
Hobbies included curling and lawn bowling, travelling and in later years, immersing himself into all the Sports Channels available.
Frank was predeceased in death by his beloved Betty (April 2011) and is survived by his daughter; (Elizabeth) Anne (Dahmer) and his twin sons Ian and Allan (and their families).
Special mention and heartfelt thanks to the following: Frank’s next door neighbour Sharon for all of her help and friendly chats over the years; Debbie McVey for her valued friendship and to Mary Hilton for her unwavering support to Frank and son Ian after Betty’s death.
As per his wishes, cremation will take place.
