FEBRUARY 21, 1951 – OCTOBER 27, 2023
It is with great sadness that the family of Paul Gordon Curle announce his passing, peacefully in his sleep, at The Village of Taunton Mills Long-Term Care on Friday, October 27th at the age of 72.
Paul was born on Feb 21, 1951 in Campbellford, Ontario to Gordon and Patricia Curle and was the eldest of four brothers; Marc (Diane), Brad (Debbie) and Kevin (Kathy).
Paul was predeceased in September 2021 by Linda, his beloved wife, best friend and partner in life.
Linda and Paul had a love like no other; they cherished each other deeply and it was clear to everyone around them that they were truly meant for each other.
Loving father to Bryan and Marsha Curle, stepfather to Arnold and Carly De la Courneuve, Paul brimmed with pride over his grandchildren, Lilly, Wyatt, Declan, and Dylan.
Paul’s professional career in the nuclear industry led him to many locations spanning Bruce Nuclear Station in Ontario in the 70’s, through a 15 year set of stops at plants in the US (Kansas, Texas, Illinois and Tennessee), finally circling back to Canada with stints at Pickering Nuclear Generating Station in Ontario and Point Lepreau, New Brunswick near the end of his career.
Sports were a passion, both as a player and a fan.
He played hockey, football and baseball in his youth but golf became the focus for the remainder of his life.
He loved working with his hands and building/construction, building his own family home in the 1970’s and another later in life as he approached retirement in the late 2000’s.
Paul bravely faced Parkinson’s disease with courage, strength, resilience, and that little bit of stubbornness he was known for. He will always be in our minds and forever in our hearts.
A private scattering of Paul’s ashes will take place at a later date. No public service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Parkinson’s Canada (parkinson.ca) in Paul’s name.
