Nelson H. Cheesman

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Nelson H. Cheesman announces his passing at home at the age of 92 on May 24, 2022.

He was the devoted husband of Elaine (nee Bradley), his wife of 62 years, loving father of Jeffrey (Dawn), David (Katie), and dear grandfather of Bradley (Jasmine).

Predeceased by parents Edna and Harry of Wiarton, Ontario. He will be fondly remembered and missed by his extended family.

After graduating from the University of Western Ontario in business administration, Nelson's entrepreneurial drive led him to start his own business in Montreal which he ran successfully for many years.

Nelson was also very community minded: he was elected as a councillor in the Municipality of Dollard-Des Ormeaux, Quebec, served as President of the Westminster Park Community Association, and coached hockey and ladies' softball.

Above all, Nelson will be remembered for his devotion to his family.

He took great interest in the lives of his sons and grandson, if not just listening, then offering advice, wisdom and his characteristic positive outlook on life, all of which will be sorely missed.

Our family is grateful to all the PSWs who cared for Nelson in his final years, allowing him to remain in his home with his family close by.

A private family funeral will be held.
