SEPTEMBER 16, 1950 – FEBRUARY 29, 2024
It is with profound heartbreak that I announce the passing of my beloved husband Rick Collins on February 29th, 2024, surrounded by family, after a valiant battle in the ICU at Toronto General.
Rick is survived by his wife and soulmate for over 51 years, Anne, as well as his parents, Red and Eleanor.
Rick is also survived by his siblings Randy (Grace), Ronnie, Mary (Reg) and Mark (Anna).
Rick was very close with Anne's family as well as numerous nieces and nephews and will be fondly remembered by all.
Rick spent many decades organizing and playing hockey and golf, developing strong lifelong friendships along the way.
Rick's kind and generous nature allowed him to make friends easily and was always the first to lend a helping hand.
Rick developed serious lung issues in his later years and in typical Rick fashion, faced the situation head on. Rick received a double lung transplant Christmas Day 2021 and was back home in an unheard of 9 days.
Despite many health setbacks during the past 2 years Rick was always a fighter, and continued to do so until the very end. Rick will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held at the COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL , 1587 Highway #2, Courtice (905-432-8484) on March 13th, from 12:00 p.m. until time of Memorial Service in our Chapel at 1:30 p.m. Reception to follow. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Ability Centre in Whitby would be appreciated.
Online condolences may be placed at courticefuneralchapel.com .
April 2, 1948 - February 28, 2024
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Reg Templeman.
Dearly loved husband of Edna (nee Link).
Beloved dad of Jean (Rob) and Jessica (Cam).
Reg was known as Grandad to his three grandchildren Tanner, Helaina and Declan who loved him dearly. Big brother to John Templeman and his wife Susan.
“Little brother”/cousin to Alan Baker and his wife Judy. Brother-in-law to Edna's 7 siblings who thought it was hilarious Edna moved a city boy into the country. Fun uncle to his 6 nieces and 10 nephews. Reg was a man who knew everyone.
You couldn't go anywhere on this earth and someone not know him. He never met a stranger and he would talk to anyone. He was always ready with a quick-witted response.
His wife was his life and he never said no to whatever she wanted. He would drive his children anywhere they demanded to be chauffeured to, Ringette, school, and parties. It never mattered he would just do it.
Lover of sports, music and beer, he was a man who was ready to sing and dance any time his daughters demanded his attention. His grumpy exterior and marshmallow interior will be truly missed.
See you later Reggie, may you never walk alone.
A private family Service will be held in Port Perry.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
