Carlos Aage Poulsen

82, of Oshawa, Ontario, passed away peacefully on Monday October 2, 2023.
Carlos was born January 16, 1941 in Lima, Peru to Charles and Yolanda Poulsen (nee Ornano).
He attend the Escuela Peruana de Aviacion Civil from 1960 - 1962.
On August 18, 1963 he married Olga G. Polianich in Lima.
Carlos worked for over 30 years in the auto manufacturing industry. He also belonged to the Estrella De Italia Masons for over 60 years.
After retirement he spent many years travelling all over the world, enjoying life at the cottage and winters in Texas. He loved sports, especially soccer and movies in various languages (and often thought he could speak them).
Most of all, he loved and adored his entire family and was very proud of them all.
Carlos is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Olga, his three children Charles and his wife Gillian, Pollyanna and her husband Vincent and Roderick and his wife Adrianne, and seven grandchildren, Thomas and his fiancé Madison, Eric, Darius, Diana, Strahan, Ava and Lila along with his sister Mary Poulsen, brother-in-law Cesar Polianich and his wife Denise, his 2 sister-in-laws Jennifer and Rosario and his niece Karen and her husband Mario (and family) and his nephews Oswaldo and his wife Dasy and Alejandro.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be incredibly missed by everyone.
May he rest in eternal peace "de aqui a la eternidad".
Charles Higney

Passed away peacefully with family by his side at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Friday September 29th, 2023 at the age of 80 years.
Predeceased by his first wife Margaret (nee Quigley), and his son Kevin Higney. Survived by his wife Linda Mash.
Loving father of Christopher (Holly), Joanne Tsiodras (Sam), Shannon Scanga (Anthony), Charles Higney, and daughter in-law Lisa Higney.
Proud papa of Aidan, Maggie, Katie, William, Savanna, Emma, Sarah and Owen.
Dear brother of John (late Helen), Janice Livingston (Norrie), James (Fiona), and predeceased by siblings Edward (Late Susan), and Owen (Isabelle).
Predeceased by his parents Charles Higney and Sarah Jane McCreery. Also dearly missed by Linda's children Samantha Caldwell (Landon), Craig Mash (Alex), Krista Melrose (Jeff), and grandsons Jack Caldwell and Cooper Mash.
Charles will always be remembered as a true gentleman and as a devoted Catholic. He was a hard working man who took great pride in providing for his family.
He created many memories with his friends at the Celtic Club. He spent many years playing the organ for his parish choir.
Charles' passion for music and the arts will remain in the memories of all who knew him. A special thank you to the Doctors and Nurses at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and Lakeridge Health Oshawa for all of their care and compassion.
Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME 847 King St. W., on Thursday October 5th, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Friday October 6th, 2023 at 10:30 am at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church (373 Simcoe St. S. Oshawa).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre or Lakeridge Health Oshawa.

Christopher “John” Mason

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Christopher “John” Mason on Saturday September 23, 2023.
John passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family.
John will be dearly missed by his wife of 63 years Marlene, his children Susan, Christopher (Donna), and Jeffrey (Cheryl), and his grandchildren Joshua, Brittnie (Mari), Braden and Caleb.
He will also be missed by his sister Cathy (George) and brother Alan (Donna), his many nieces and nephews, and his many friends and neighbours.
John is predeceased by his father Christopher and mother Jean, and brothers Bill (Caroline) and Rob (Darlene) whom John missed dearly.
John lived in Oshawa and most recently in Port Hope. He spent most of his working life working in the Purchasing Department at General Motors, from where he retired in 1995, and then continued working as an independent consultant until 2003.
John loved to spend time with his family, and he loved to spend time on the golf course and at the bowling alley.
He also enjoyed travel to the United Kingdom and Kissimmee, Florida.
A visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME on Thursday October 12th, at 1:30pm, followed immediately by a Chapel Service at 2:30pm. An after-service reception will also be held at a location to be disclosed at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or another charity of your choice.

it is with great sadness her family announces the passing of Cynthia Lee Norton (nee Garrod) on September 21, 2023 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, with her family by her side, in her 68th year.
Beloved wife of Barry for 45 years; loving mother of Vincent (Melissa), Nicole (Djordje) and Julian (Stephanie). Fun - loving - song singing grandmother of Emily, Jack, Katie, Lila, Iris, Ivy, and River.
Cynthia cared for and loved all around her and will always be remembered for her answering machine singing talent and her beautiful beaming smile.
A memorial service will be held at Newcastle Funeral Home, 386 Mill St. S on Thursday, September 28 visitation begins at 10am, service at 11am, followed by interment.

Cassandra Caitlyn Emma Brunshaw

Cassandra passed away suddenly, at the age of 34.
Cassandra is survived by her parents, Robert, and Francesca; and by her three sisters and one brother.
Cassandra was predeceased by her 12-year-old brother, Jason.
Cassandra's first love was that of our family and always treasured her time with family.
Cassandra has worked with the Toronto Blue Jays since September 2016. Cassandra's love of the Blue Jays and the family atmosphere that this organization has with each other was insurmountable.
Cassandra did not think of the Blue Jays as work or a career.
She never thought of herself and always put the people of the Blue Jays first.
She treated everybody from the top of the Blue Jay organization and all through the organization with the same level of respect and love. Cassandra had a rare quality that always raised everybody's spirit and people confided in her.
She always had a sunny disposition about her. Cassandra, in her very short life, will always be remembered by everybody that she has touched.
In lieu of flowers, please give to the JAYS CARE FOUNDATION. This is what Cassandra would have wanted.
Visitation will be on Sunday, September 24, 2023, between 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. at the Accettone Funeral Home, 384 Finley Ave., Ajax. It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Chelk Jin on Friday, September 15, 2023 at Lakeridge Health Hospital in Oshawa at the age of 76.
Loving husband of Sandra (nee Bolin) of 52 years.
Beloved father of Jeff (Roslyn), Doug (Jillian) and Catherine (Orion). Proud Poppa of Olivia, Sophie, Mia, Cameron, Dante, Myles and Gwendolyn. Dear brother of Chou (Lillian), Sue (Jim), the late Jon (Sandy) and brother-in-law of Joann (Bob) Allen.
He is predeceased by his parents Fon Ping and Kee Shang Jin and his sister Joy.
Chelk will be greatly missed by nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and his dog Holly and all the dogs in the neighbourhood.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Toronto Western Hospital and Lakeridge Health Oshawa Hospital Emergency for all their care and compassion throughout his time there.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, September 23rd, 2023 at Mount Lawn Funeral Home, 21 Garrard road in Whitby, ON, from 3:00p.m to 5:00p.m.
