It is with great sadness the family of Helen Wilson announces her peaceful passing at Hillsdale Estates on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at the age of 92.

The beloved wife of the late Peter Wilson, who was the love of her life for 61 years.

Loving mother of devoted daughter, Debra, and loyal son-in-law, Rob Robertson, and son, Peter (Abbey) Wilson. Cherished grandmother of Elisha and Ian.

Predeceased by sisters Nan Pare and Heather McGill.

Helen’s compassionate spirit was always evident in her daily life and dealings with her friends and family.

She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Her love was shared amongst all friends, family, and creatures alike, as seen by her passion and love for her cats.

Her creative abilities were displayed through her many crafts and talents, which were often shared among her church family. Baking was one of her most special skills.

Her famous shortbread cookie recipe was inherited from her Scottish mother.

When she was not baking or crafting, Helen could be found tending the flowers in her garden with loving care.

Helen’s life was dedicated to raising her family and always put their needs first.

The family wishes to express a special thank you to the staff at Hillsdale Estates, especially Primrose Path, for their wonderful care and support.

A service will be held a St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church at a later date to celebrate Helen’s life.

Henry is predeceased by his parents Maria and Theo, and will be lovingly remembered by his brother Herb, and brother-in-law, Richard and Ralph and their families.

Henry was born in Vienna, Austria on June 9th, 1939 and immigrated to Canada in 1953. As a proud Canadian, nothing made him happier than watching his children and grandchildren play hockey, lacrosse and other sports.

Henry Kucera was a teacher with the Toronto District School Board, and had a great passion for teaching science. He had a special ability to make everyone feel at peace, and to make everyone laugh, no matter what their age.

We would like to thank the Nurses and Doctors at Lakeridge Health Oshawa who went above and beyond their duties when caring for him, and for making him feel comfortable in his final days.

Passed away suddenly at her Uxbridge home on September 20, 2022.

She was pre-deceased by her husband Heinz (2014), one sister in Germany and two brothers in Canada.

Survived by sisters Ricarda, Adelheid, Elke and Dagmar and brother Dietmar in Germany.

She is fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and in-laws in Germany and Canada. Helga’s faith and Christian values gave her comfort and shone through in her genuine caring for all.

She was able to make lasting friends easily and thrived in social events at the condo and church. Her giving nature was reciprocated for which she was very grateful.

Helga was conscientious about looking after her health and well being, being charitable to those in need and acting responsibly for the environment.

In her 95 plus years she forged through the many changes in the world and circumstances making a productive life from several new beginnings in both Germany and Canada.

Her light will ever shine brightly within the lives she touched in her well lived life’s journey. Rest in peace.

Cremation has occurred. Arrangements with the Low and Low funeral home. Family members will attend the Inurnment at the Uxbridge Cemetery thereafter.

73, from Whitby Ontario, passed away Thursday September, 2022 after a very short battle with Liver Cancer.

Grieving his loss are his wife, Ilona Raabe, children Stephen Raabe (Kelly), Tanya Symons (David), Helen Coleby (Alex) and Chris Coleby (Julie) along with his seven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Joseph, Cecilia, Liev, Myles, Ethan and Elijah in addition to his extended family and friends.

He is predeceased by his first wife, Patricia Raabe, and his brothers Ernst and Walter.

Born in Paramaribo, Surinam he spent his formative years in Holland, he was the second of four children and followed in his father’s footsteps into Engineering.

His role in Mining Engineering brought him to Libera, Africa; Cassiar, BC; Logan Lake, BC and Peterborough, Ontario, until he finally settled happily in Whitby.

A lover of gardening and travel, he filled his days with time expanding his backyard oasis and exploring different countries with his wife.

He loved a good meal and a great conversation, preferably at the same time.

Hans enjoyed getting to know people and discovering how they think, whether those people were children, friends or other travellers.

He will be sorely missed by all who knew him in Canada and abroad.

She passed peacefully with her son, Sandy, holding her hand.

She was a loving wife for 60 years to her late husband, Douglas Kemp.

She will be fondly remembered by her children Sandy (Jill), Kirk (Sheila) and Elizabeth (Tony Gibson).

She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Laura, Natalie, Eric, Erin, Byron, Victor and Victoria, her great-grandchildren Liam, Maeve and Audrey and many nieces and nephews.

Billie, a proud member of the Rutherford Clan, is survived by her two siblings Marianne Chapelle and Jean Taplin and predeceased by siblings Sandy Rutherford, Onie Myles, Betty Peacock and Jack Rutherford.

Billie embraced her membership at St. Paul’s United Church and was very fortunate to be apart of such a caring church community.

She is a Life Member of the Retired Women Teachers of Ontario, had 60 years of service with The Bowmanville Lions Club and has received the Paul Harris Fellowship Award from the Rotary Club and the Helen Keller Fellowship Award from the Lions Club.

Billie spent many years organizing drivers for cancer patients and distributing bedkits for Sleeping Children Around The World.

Billie was a caring and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was always concerned about the welfare of others. She will never be forgotten and will remain in our hearts forever.

Arrangements with Morris Funeral Chapel, Bowmanville. The Memorial Service will occur at St. Paul’s United Church, 178 Church Street, Bowmanville, on Tuesday September 13, 2022 at 11:30 am. A reception will follow the service. Inurnment at Bowmanville Cemetery after reception.
