Irby 'Dale' - Passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Saturday, September 28th, 2019 at the age of 70.Beloved father of Jarded Ledford and Joelle MacLean.Cherished Grandfather of Elijah MacLean and Michaella MacLean.Dear brother to Herman (Pam) Ledford, Verna (Wayne) Byrd and Effie (Bob) Dunlavy.Dale will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.Friends and family may gather for a sharing of memories at Newcastle Funeral Home, on Friday October 4th beginning at 10:30. Irene Isabel Doble
May 29, 1922 – August 25, 2019Passed away peacefully in her 98th year.She was the beloved wife of the late Ray Doble (d. 1996) and loving mother to Patricia (Kevin Mann) of Ancaster and Sheila (Peter Dockerty) of Alliston. Proud Grandma of Peter and Sheila’s three daughters, Colleen (Phil Brownhill), Jocelyn (Andrew Wallin) and Monica (Drew Eaton). Survived by sisters-in-law Christine (Catherwood) Johnston (late brother Clarence), Gwen (Doble) Brison (late Jack) and cousin Wilma (Johnston-Gowland) Sager (late Bill).Irene will also be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by her parents Fred and Ella Johnston, sisters Alice (late Newt Hodgson), Doris and brother Clarence. She grew up on a farm in Quaker Hill, an area where two of her great-great grandparents settled in 1834.After graduating from Uxbridge High School, she worked at The Bank of Commerce for 11 years. She married Ray Doble in 1952 and they moved to a farm north of Zephyr. In 1968, Ray and Irene sold the farm and built a home in Zephyr and lived there for 27 years.Irene was actively involved in her church and community, had a quiet, steady faith in God and was always ready to help others. She was known for her quick memory and for remembering the birthdays of all her family and friends. We will miss her tremendously but know her Spirit lives on in us all.Heartfelt thanks for exceptional care at Butternut Manor in Uxbridge and more recently to her palliative care team for their compassionate care at Matthews House Hospice in Alliston.Friends are welcome to celebrate her life at Low and Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge, on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon followed by the Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. A reception will take place after the service then interment will follow at Sunderland Cemetery later afternoon.Memorial donations may be made to Matthews House Hospice, Zephyr Evangelical Missionary Church or a CHARITY of your choice.

Isobel Claremont
Isobel Claremont passed away at home in Port Perry on Friday, June, 21 2019 at the age of 92.She will be missed tremendously by her daughter Celine, and son in-law Dan, as well as extended family and friends.Isobel was a special individual who made a positive impression on everyone who crossed her path.She was a generous and giving person who seldom, if ever, complained.She always had a good word for everyone, and was upbeat and pleasant, even when in excruciating pain. Isobel lost her husband of 64 years Roger, several years ago, and that left a huge void in her life.But she always remained positive, spending countless hours watching TV with Celine or reading with her dog Sookie by her side.Over the past three months, Isobel was bedridden, and her health declined rapidly. The doctor, nurses, and personal service workers came to the house and provided her with excellent care. During those visits one thing became abundantly clear, they recognized how special Isobel really was, and bonds of friendship were immediately established. When notified of her passing, many offered kind words, and described how this frail Scottish senior had touched their lives. Isobel was a modest women, who went through life with a kind word and a smile. She was by no means financially wealthy, but it didn’t matter.Her currency was her character, and the way she treated and loved people. Isobel always left everyone feeling good about themselves, friends and strangers alike. She will be missed dearly. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.Donations in honour of Isobel may be made to the Scugog Humane Society or the Oak Ridges Hospice of Durham.

We are sad to announce the passing of Ingrid Elizabeth Kucheran on Tuesday May 28, 2019.Ingrid passed unexpectedly at her home in Newcastle, Ontario, at the age of 72. She will be remembered lovingly by her daughter Racquel and grandson Jeffrey, her sisters Karin (Brian) and Paula (Randy) and brothers Bill (Vera) and Charlie (Marian), including nieces and nephews and their families, cousins Julie (Larry) and Bob (Robin).She will also be remembered by her partner Edwin Garside and his family.Ingrid had a long career in Traffic and Transportation as a traffic manager for Unilever.A Celebration of Ingrid’s life will be held in August 2019, to share our memories of one so loved and who will be so missed. The date for the celebration to be announced when arrangements are made for the location. Interment will take place in Haliburton, Ontario, near her parents. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Clarington Animal Shelter or a Women’s Shelter, would be appreciated.
