Georgina, at the age of 96, is predeceased by her beloved husband Hedley.

Loving mother of Marilyn (Stan Kapuscinski).

Caring grandma of Tracy (Mike Cartwright) and Julie (Scott Clenchy), and proud nana of Anna, Leah, Peyton, and Reilly.

Georgina will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by her extended family and friends.

The family would like to express their thankfulness and gratitude to the staff of Glen Hill Terrace for the care and compassion that Georgina received while in their care.

Visitation will be held at Mount Lawn Funeral Home, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby on Friday, August 11th from 1:30p.m. until time of service in the chapel at 2:30p.m.

Interment to follow at MOUNT LAWN CEMETERY.

It is with great sadness that on Saturday August 05th 2023, Geoff lost his valiant fight with cancer just after his 64th birthday.

Geoff is survived by his adoring wife of almost 43 years Nancy, cherished son Greg and dear father-in-law of Amanda. Beloved grandfather to their children Ava and Lincoln.

Loving brother of Chris (JoAnn), Lesley (Fred) Perry. He will be sadly and deeply missed by his nieces and nephews, his mother-in-law Jean Wilson and sister-in-law Marilyn Paterson.

Geoff is pre-deceased by his parents George and Sheila Snell, his father-in-law Jim Wilson and brother-in-laws Richard Wilson and Ken Paterson.

Geoff possessed a strong character, was intelligent, had a quick wit, and lived life on his own terms. He was a wonderful provider for Nancy and Greg.

Athletic throughout his life whether it was track and field, basketball or hockey he excelled at each. An avid golfer; his first hole in one came at his lucky #7 hole.

However, it was fishing with his son that gave Geoff the most joy.

A drop in celebration of life for Geoff will be held on Thursday August 17th between 3:00pm and 7:00pm at the Angus Glen Golf Club 10080 Kennedy Road near Major MacKenzie.

No flowers please.

In memory of our Geoff, hug and spend time with your family, enjoy a round of golf, or a day fishing and always keep him in your heart.

Much loved aunt to Jackie Wermie, Vickie Rose, Scott Rose, Sean Gregg, Chris Gregg, Kayleigh Johnston and Taylor Johnston. She will be lovingly remembered by her many great nieces and nephews.

At Gail’s request there will be no funeral service. A private graveside service will be held at Orono Cemetery.

We are sad to announce that Ruth passed away peacefully on July 12, 2023 in her 94th year.

She knew she was safe in God’s arms and would meet her Saviour on that glorious morning when we will all be together again.

Ruth is survived by her sister, Sandra, nephews Jeff (Linda) and Rod, grand nieces Natasha (Kenio) & Lateisha and great nephew Marlo & great neice Kiana.

Ruth was predeceased by her husband John.

Ruth was born March 23, 1930 in Lyndhurst, Ontario and grew up in Sweets Corners, Ontario.

Later, she became a school teacher and then went into nursing at the Kingston General Hospital in Kingston where she graduated as a Registered Nurse. When she met John she moved to Toronto. They married and moved to British Columbia where Ruth nursed at the Vancouver General Hospital for many years. Ruth provided her nursing skills to hospitals in Kingston, Oshawa, Toronto, Williams Lake and Vancouver.

Later, Ruth and John returned to Oshawa, Ontario to be closer to family.

Ruth lived many years as a very strong woman and we want to thank Dr. Nigel Jagan and staff for their wonderful care of her over all those years!

The family would also like to thank Wynfield Chartwell Long Term Care staff, 3rd floor, for all the wonderful, loving care and good times they gave Ruth!

Ruth’s family is following her wishes of not having a funeral. Ruth will be cremated and placed beside her husband until our Saviour comes and we’ll all be together again!

With deep sorrow and much love, we mourn the passing of our mother, oma, sister, aunt, and friend, Gerarda “Greta” Hoogers.

Following a short battle with liver cancer, Greta passed away peacefully at the Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry on Tuesday, July 25th, 2023, at the age of 89 years.

Greta will be deeply missed by her two sons; Peter and his wife Lianne; and Albert and his wife Rebecca; her five grandsons, Gregory, Andrew, Graham, Mason, and Ben; sisters Moep (Ben), Willy (Ted predeceased), Jopie predeceased (Ted), Anna (Ken predeceased), Betty, Trudy (Al predeceased), Liz (Gary), Josie (Jim), Berna (Ken) and brothers Kees (Anna predeceased), Jake predeceased, Henry (Tonnie), Peter (Wendy).

Born in Amsterdam, Holland, on November 13th, 1933, Greta was the second oldest of fourteen children and immigrated with her family to Canada in 1953 to begin a new life.

After becoming a widow when she was 55, she continued to display tremendous strength, spirit, and determination in her life. A keen follower of world news and politics, Greta loved to debate with anyone who shared these interests.

In place of flowers, we ask that memorial donations be given to the Oak Ridges Hospice of Durham or to the Port Perry Hospital Foundation, whose incredible staff consistently went above and beyond to ensure that Greta’s final days were comfortable.

George was a long time employee of Bell Canada, retiring as a manager after working in several departments after 38 years.

He was a talented Saxophone player, he enjoyed golfing and being with his beloved wife and family.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gregory Paul Mills on July 15, 2023 after a motorcycle accident near Guelph, ON.

Greg leaves behind his best friend and wife, Susan (Cathcart) of nearly 30 years and two wonderful boys, Connor and Liam. Predeceased by infant daughter Jane (2001).

Greg is the eldest son of Paul and Judith Mills of Kanata, ON and brothers Brad (Jenn) and Scott (Jenny) will miss him dearly.

Greg will be fondly remembered by mother-in-law Isobel Cathcart, father-in-law Don (2008), Sharron (Matt), Doug (Christine), as well as nieces and nephews.

Greg was born in Toronto on March 17, 1966, he was raised in Kanata and attended University of Waterloo. Greg was an active Scout member with 1st Uxbridge Scouts, always enjoying a good project and sharing his knowledge of science fiction, movies and books.

Celebration of Life for Greg will be held at the Uxbridge Seniors Centre, 75 Marietta Street, Uxbridge on Friday, July 28, 2023, 7pm to 9pm. A Celebration of Life for Greg will be held in the Ottawa area at a date still to be determined.
