(December 7, 1972 - August 7, 2019)Nancy passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, surrounded by family and friends, due to complications from recent surgery and due to the toll that Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) put on her body, including being on dialysis for 7 years. She is survived by Ted, her husband of 21 years, her daughters Allie (Jaydee) and Abby, her father John (Sandy), her mother Vicki, her sister Jane (Nick), her mother in law Arlene, her sister in law Tracy (Rob), her brother in law Mike (Cheryl), nephews Hugh, Elliott and Logan, nieces Lucy, Meagan and Jasmine.Nancy grew up in Calgary, Whitby and Newmarket. She made friends with almost everyone she met. Growing up, she was active with her many interests, like Girl Guiding, camping and 4 wheeling, helping with her mom’s Chow Chow kennel, handling their Chows in dog shows, as well as vocal choir and drama clubs. After a 10 year on/off relationship with Ted, they were married Sept. 13/97 and she had their Chows in the wedding party as her Ring Bearer and Flower Girl. After a wedding night surprise, Nancy gave birth to her first daughter, Allie, in May/98. In Aug./02, while staying at her in-laws, she fell off of a dock due to her narcolepsy and blew out her knee while 20 weeks pregnant. Further complicating things, in Sept/02, the pregnancy started to cause excessive pain from her kidneys. She was admitted to hospital, where she stayed for 3 months, giving birth to her second daughter, Abby, on Nan’s 30th Birthday.Nancy focused all of her attention on being the best mother that she could be to the girls. Allie had Qadesh the tiger attend her 4th birthday party, while Abby and Nancy celebrated their 4/34th birthdays in Disney World. As the PKD progressed, it robbed Nan of her energy and caused more and more pain. When she was just 39, she entered renal failure and started dialysis. This led Nan into a whole new world of people with whom she made fast and lasting friends.Nancy’s Family would like to thank everyone who touched her life. The Nephrology team at LHOshawa, all of the nurses, SA’s and techs in the dialysis units, the staff in CCU2&3, G8, G9 and the many other units that Nancy had extended stays in at LHO, Jeff Robertson of The PKD Foundation of Canada, Dr. Ian Watson for his tireless care of Nancy, and last but not least Irene Boon & Angele Jolicoeur. You have an angel watching over you, now and forever.Friends and family may gather for a memorial visitation on Thursday August 22nd from 7:00 – 9:00 P.M. at Morris Funeral Chapel, Bowmanville. A memorial service will be held at Harmony Road Baptist Church on Saturday August 24th at 1:00 P.M. In Honour of Nancy's vibrancy please wear Purple to her memorial service.
