Born January 16, 1928 in England. Passed away April 16, 2020 at the age of 92 in L.T.C at Ballycliffe.Predeceased by his wife Frances of 72 years in 2018, brothers Ernie, Bill and his parents Maud and William.Fred and Frances emigrated to Canada in 1965 with daughters Julia(Robert) and Delia.He will be fondly remembered by his 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.He loved his garden which won Ajax in Bloom and was an Honourary Member of the Ajax Creative Arts,He loved life and a cold beer.He was diagnosed with Alzhiemers at the age of 86 but on April 15, 2020 we were informed he had Covid 19.We could not be with him at the end of his life which broke our hearts.We will miss you, thank you for everything.Due to current restrictions, there will be no funeral, just a private family interment. It is with sad hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Frederick Maurice Snooks of Sunderland on April 9, 2020 in his 84th year. Fred leaves behind his loving and supporting wife Katherine of 62 years and his 6 children Patricia (Jim Nelson), Helen (Peter Gouweleeuw), Raymond (Moira Taylor), David (Emy Flindall), Darlene (Stephen Sproule) and Joseph.A proud Poppa of 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Fred will be missed by his extended family of nieces and nephews. Born and raised on a farm in Udora, Ontario.Fred started his own business as a plumber/electrician and also stayed working the farm in Udora with his parents Maurice and May after his marriage to Katherine.Fred was a community man and served on the Udora Hall board and the Bethesda-Scott Cemetery board. Fred will be missed by his family and friends. A private burial was held on Saturday, April 11th at the Bethesda-Scott Cemetery.A Celebration of his wonderful life will be held in the near future.In lieu of flowers, and if desired, memorial donations can be made to the Hospital for Sick Children, Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society.

September 23, 1943 Nottingham, England - March 18, 2020 Cannington, Canada. Fred passed away just one week after being taken to Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, diagnosed with cancer.The suddenness was a tremendous shock to family and friends. He was a musician (piano and organ) and a businessman travelling North America, Europe and Pacific Rim, a past president of MIAC, the Music Industry Association of Canada and also a member of the Masons. Besides music, his wonderful talent was cooking-hugely appreciated by family and friends. Not as much appreciated was his dry and wacky sense of humour and use of puns. Fred is survived by his wife Pat, step children, Karen, Brian, and Grant, his siblings Beryl and Brian and grandchildren, Ali, Katie, Emily and Liam and his best friend Alfie (the cat). Private arrangements. 1927-2020 Passed away on February 12, 2020, at the age of 92.A man of precision and unwavering work ethic, Harry mastered the tool and die trade in Germany before immigrating to Canada in 1956.He met his wife-to-be, Pauline, a schoolteacher, at a local dance in Oshawa.Together they raised three children.Harry retired from General Motors after twenty plus years as a skilled tradesman.He pursued hobbies such as travel, golfing, woodworking, and enjoyed singing in a choir.Harrywas also a devoted practitioner and teacher of Tai Chi, an art form he practiced daily.An active member of St. Mark's United Church and the Whitby Seniors Centre, he had many close friends that he saw regularly for coffee.Harry was predeceased by his wife Pauline (1996).He will be missed dearly by his children, Steven (Feroza), Jane (Mark) and Carol (Kent); his grandchildren, Adam, Sameera, Andrew and Eric; and his faithful feline companion, Buddy.A memorial service is planned for April 26, 2020, at 11:00 a.m., THORNTON FUNERAL CENTRE.Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Alzheimers Society of Canada.
