She is survived by her daughter, Trinity Spooner; her mother, Barb Serroul; her father, Daniel Young; her sister, Mandi (Chris) Shelswell; her nephew, Doyle Shelswell; and her bonus father, Phil Clarkin. Barbara Jean’s memory will also be cherished by her first love, Steven Spooner, as well as her extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
Predeceased by her grandparents, Danny and Isabel Serroul, and Stevie and Stella Young, as well as her uncle, Dan Serroul, Barbara Jean’s legacy of compassion will live on in the hearts of those she touched, including her cherished animal friends. She will be missed beyond measure.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local animal shelter in her memory.
Barbara Jean’s favorite poem was The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe:
“…But the Raven, sitting lonely on the placid bust, spoke only that one word, as if his soul in that one word he did outpour…Then the bird said 'Nevermore.'”
