In loving memory of Bruce Couper, who peacefully passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, after courageously facing MS for the past 48 years. Bruce was the beloved husband of Carol-Ann (nee Frost) and the loving father of Christopher Couper. He was a cherished grandfather to Nicky, Taylor, and Alexis, and will be missed dearly by his in-laws, extended family, and friends.
In keeping with Bruce’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and services were entrusted to Mount Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby, Ontario.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations be made in Bruce’s name to the MS Society of Canada.
In Loving Memory of Michael “Mike” Scott Cooley, who passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024, at the age of 70, surrounded by loved ones.
Mike was a devoted father to Sarah (Kyle) and Rebecca, and a loving papa to Leah. He will be dearly missed by his brother Steve (Rhoda), his sisters Lynn and Alison (Mike), and his many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Known for living by his motto, “Give back more than you take,” Mike truly left a positive impact on everyone who knew him.
A beautiful life that came to an end, he died as he lived, everyone’s friend.
As a man both strong and good, who gave his best for others, Mike will always be remembered for the joy he brought and the difference he made in the lives of many.

In Loving Memory of Bonnie Cairns. With great sadness, the family of Bonnie Cairns announces her passing on October 30, 2024. We said goodbye to a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Bonnie’s love for her family was boundless. She treasured every moment spent with loved ones and took immense pride in her granddaughter, Emma. A dedicated reader and passionate baker, Bonnie lovingly prepared her mother’s cherished Chelsea buns every Christmas, creating lasting family traditions. She also had a special affection for her grand-dog, Henry, whom she loved to spoil.
Bonnie passed peacefully at home on Wednesday morning. She will be deeply missed by her devoted husband, Frank; her loving daughter, Tracy, and son-in-law Paul; her adored granddaughter, Emma; and her brother Rick. She is also remembered fondly by her sisters-in-law Ellen, Sandra, and Margaret, as well as her cherished nieces and nephews. Bonnie is predeceased by her parents, Thelma and Albert, her siblings Patricia and John, sister-in-law Gail, and brothers-in-law Raymond and Jim.
In accordance with Bonnie’s wishes, no formal service will be held at this time. An intimate celebration of her life will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bonnie’s name to Michael Garron Hospital.
Bonnie’s spirit will forever remain in our hearts, and her love will continue to inspire us every day.
Athanasios (Tom) Constand
January 24, 1935 – October 28, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Athanasios (Tom) Constand, who peacefully passed away at home on October 28, 2024, at the age of 89. Tom was born in Elefsina, Greece, and in 1951, he began a new life in Canada. He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of 65 years, Maria, and his children Dean (Andrea) and Diea (Aryiris), as well as his grandchildren Marissa (Brian), Panayiotis, and great-granddaughter Sophie.
Tom was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. His entrepreneurial spirit flourished early, culminating in the success of the family’s restaurant, Surf N Steer, in north Toronto. He took joy in creating memorable experiences for his patrons, and his legacy of kindness and resilience will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Visitation will take place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Cremation & Funeral Centres on Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a chapel service from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Interment will occur at 12:00 p.m., with a reception from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. to celebrate Tom’s life.

Peacefully passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, at the age of 86.
Beloved husband of Jackie for over 65 wonderful years. Loving father of Debbie Fischer, Rick Collins (Ling-Yue), and Lisa Kellington (John). Cherished grandfather of David (Kayla), Danton (Michelle), Kylie (Rich), and Kai. Dear brother of Donna Mason (Al) and the late Diane Alexander (John).
Dave valued his friendships with wonderful neighbors from his years in the Glens, at Grandview Resort, and Grand Vista apartments. He always had a passion for sports, including 10-pin bowling, hockey, baseball, golfing, and curling. Dave enjoyed playing, instructing, and coaching many sports at all levels, and his love of curling was especially strong, inspiring his family to carry on this passion.
Dave retired from Oshawa Public Utilities (OPUC) after many years of service and was an ultimate volunteer at numerous curling events.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, from 6-8 p.m. at Armstrong Funeral Home (124 King St. E., Oshawa). A Memorial Service will take place on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel. Urn interment to follow at Union Cemetery.
A celebration of life will be held at 1320 Benson Street, Oshawa in the Common Room immediately following the interment service. Parking is available at the North-East corner of the Cineplex Theaters at the corner of Taunton and Benson. Follow the north sidewalk to the backside of the building to the common room entrance.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Princess Margaret or the Alzheimer Society.

Épouse bien-aimée de M. Reginald Caron et fille de feu Armand Plourde et de feu Yolande Thériault, Micheline laisse dans la peine sa famille et ses amis, mais aussi avec de merveilleux souvenirs.
Outre son époux, elle laisse dans le deuil ses enfants: Julie (Lawrence Tuck) et Eric, ainsi que ses petits-enfants: Yannick et Amélie Tuck, Zachary et Ava Caron. Elle était entourée d’amour de ses frères et sœurs: Francine Nault (Richard), Maurice Plourde (Pierrette), Jacqueline Couturier (Jacques), et Patricia Plourde (feu Gilbert Nadeau). Micheline repose désormais auprès de ses parents et de son frère Réal.
La famille accueillera les témoignages de sympathie à la Maison funéraire Mount Lawn, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby, Ontario, le vendredi 1er novembre 2024, de 18h à 20h. Les funérailles auront lieu le samedi 2 novembre à 12h30 en l’église Assomption de Notre-Dame à Oshawa, suivies de la mise en terre au cimetière Mount Lawn.

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of William Malcolm Cadoret at the age of 90. Malcolm will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 68 years, his three children, eight grandchildren, and the many friends and people who had the honor of knowing him.
Malcolm lived a humble yet extraordinary life. His dedication to others' happiness and his unwavering love for his family were evident in every interaction. He had a remarkable work ethic, though his family and friends always remained his top priority. A talented musician with a deep love for music, Malcolm’s outgoing personality had a way of bringing people together, creating cherished moments that will be remembered by all.
The world has lost a great man—one who inspired others to live life fully, with respect, love, and devotion to family. He will be remembered always for his profound impact on those around him. Everyone who knew Malcolm is better for having known him.

Betty was the loving mother of Joan Butt (Steve), Bill (Tania), John (Lisa), Jane, and Jim (Sheri). She was the proud and cherished grandmother of Stephanie, Travis (Kristen), Katelyn (Dave), Mickenzie, Cody (Megan), Justin, Keenan (Jenna), and Tanner, and the beloved great-grandmother of Kaylee, Alexis, Jason, Reid, Presley, Hannah, Arya, and Callyn.
Predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years, Harold Cook, her son Robert (Bob), and granddaughter Jessica Butt, Betty will be fondly remembered by her family and friends.
A talented seamstress with a great eye for quality antiques, Betty, along with her late husband Harold, refinished and sold numerous pieces at antique shows. She treasured her time spent with friends, especially the ‘over the hill gang’.
Betty will be lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews, and extended family.
