It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Clive Lilwall of Whitby, Ontario on Sunday December 18th, at the age of 80 years.

Clive was born in Fleetwood, England, and moved to Ontario, Canada in 1968. He taught Communications at Durham College in Oshawa for 27 years. Clive was a passionate writer and an accomplished author.

He enjoyed tennis, travelling, bowling, hiking, carving, and spending time with his cat, Layla.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 34 years, Erika Lilwall; daughter: Karen Lilwall (John MacLean) and stepdaughter Carmen Knight-Wade (Vernon Wade); grandchildren: Joshua, KendraLee, Sidny, John, and Wesley; brother, Nick Lilwall; as well as numerous relatives and friends.

Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health in Oshawa Ontario with her family by her side.

Wife of Neville (late) and mother of Cecil (Chandy), Mathew (late), Cyntie (Curtis), Ryan (Crystal) and Brian (Karen). Grandmother of 25 and Great Grandmother of 7.

Pre-deceased by her mother Mary Joseph and father David Suchit.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who adored her family with her entire heart.

She was passionate about her family. Carmen was the greatest wife, mother and grandmother of all and mother to all. She will surely be missed, and it will be hard to move on without her.

Visitation will be held at the DeStefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa, on Sunday December 18th, from 2:00-4:00pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday December 19th, at 10:00 am. Visitation from 9:00 am until time of service at Kendalwood Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 300 Kendalwood Road, Whitby. Interment to follow at Thornton Cemetery in Oshawa.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother Cathy Diane Tonks.

She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family.

Her husband of 48 years David Tonks , son Jeffrey Tonks (Rhonda Allen) Benjamin Tonks (Raegan Pawley) and grandson Connor Tonks.

She will be missed by her brother Mike Milling his wife Cindy and nieces Ginny and Heather.

It is with heavy hearts that the children of Czeslawa Kowalczyk (nee Pietrzak), announce her passing peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family at home on December 6th , 2022 in her 94th year.

Born on October 4, 1929, outside of Łodz, Poland to Jan and Leokadia Pietrzak, Czeslawa endured many hardships and persevered in the end.

During World War II, at a young age, she and her family were sent to Germany for forced labour. They all survived that ordeal and were later released back home.

Predeceased by her brother Lesak and sister Sabina of Poland.

Survived by her sister Marila (Marilyn) of Poland. Predeceased by her husband Jan (John) (1985).

Adored and much-loved mother of daughters Mary and Elizabeth (Michael) and son John, all of Oshawa. Many thanks to cousin Annie and her family, for their love and support during this time.

Czeslawa will be dearly missed by many extended family members and friends, here in Canada and Poland.

Czeslawa will be remembered by her great work ethic and kindness to people. A woman with many talents and interests. Her love for fashion, her famous cabbage rolls, her love for gardening, sewing, knitting, crocheting, music and dancing. We will miss her stories of old and new.

As a devout Catholic, Czeslawa was a proud member of St. Hedwig’s Church for many years.

Czeslawa had the eternal strength of a true warrior and was forever known as a kind and gentle woman, who always put family first.

Special thanks to cardiologist Dr. Edward Long and Dr. Ibrahim Abdul-Rahman for taking care of Mom.

Many thanks to the Community Care Durham Team, Nurse Daphne, the PSW’s, and physiotherapist Nancy for their great care of Mom.

Also, many thanks to Emergency Services; fire, police and paramedics who attended.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. Prayers and rosary will be from 4 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME (124 King St. E., Oshawa).

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 11 a.m. at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.

Born on November 7, 1937 in Hellendoorn, Netherlands, Rini passed away peacefully at her home in Port Perry on Friday, December 9, 2022, after a very courageous battle with cancer.

Rini (nee Heetkamp) has been reunited with her best friend and husband Henk Bouwmeester (1935-2017).

A wonderful mother and an amazing Oma, Rini is survived by her three sons Tim (Laurie), Alen (Kim) and Mark (Tammy); her five grandchildren Caine (Clare), Taylar (Cody), Lisa (Matt), Jazmine and Jade (Connor); and her five great-grandchildren Olivia, Annabel, Kallie, Benjamin Henk, and Riley.

The oldest of 9 children, Rini came to Canada in 1961 looking for adventure.

She was an avid rug hooker and an active member of the Catholic Women's League for nearly 55 years, making lasting friendships at both.

Rini will be lovingly remembered by her brothers and sisters both in Canada and the Netherlands (Miep, Henk, Joke (deceased), Sientje, Tony, Elly, Jan, and Gettie), and her many nieces and nephews, and friends.

The family of Rini Bouwmeester will receive friends at the Wagg Funeral Home, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry, on Tuesday, December 13th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1710 Scugog Street (Hwy 7A) in Port Perry on Wednesday, December 14th at 11 a.m. with Father Keith Wallace officiating.

Dearly beloved wife for 63 years to Jacob Mieras (predeceased).

Beloved mother of John Mieras (predeceased), twins Cathy Mieras (predeceased) and Anna (Brian) Jewell, Irene (Randy-predeceased) Skinner, Aggie (Dave) Gray, Mary (John) Schweier Rideout and Miriam (Bill) Brethour.

Cora was a loving Oma to 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Cora was born an only child to Dr. Willem and Egberdina Reilingh in Wemeldinge, Zeeland, Holland, studied nursing and married Jacob in the Netherlands, before immigrating to Canada in 1953 as a new bride.

Cora was strong, hardworking, generous, quiet and preferred working in the background.

She was a member of Beaverton Women’s Institute, Beaverton Historical Society, Beaverton Horticultural Society, the bridge club, a life member of the UCW at St. Andrews United Church in Beaverton, a church greeter, and organized funeral lunches and flowers and candles for church dinners.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Lakeview Manor for the excellent care that Mom received over the past 5 years.

Visitation will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church, Beaverton, on Monday December 12th from 12noon until time of funeral service at 1:00P.M. Private family interment Stone Church Cemetery.
