Adored Nana of Mathew (Korea), Dylan, Adam, Noah, Sarah, Katy and Billy (deceased).Great-Nana to 5 beautiful granddaughters Zoe, Tia, Renee, Daphne and Avery.Aunt to many nieces and nephews in Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta, Newfoundland, British Columbia and Thailand.Nancy was dedicated to her family who always came first and loved playing cards with family and friends. She was an avid knitter and donated many pairs of mittens over the years. Nancy was born in Winnipeg and met her husband Alf while they were both stationed in Barriefield.They moved to Oshawa following their wedding in 1947 where they lived until Alf retired.Later they moved to their cottage on Chemong Lake where they spent 20 very happy years before moving back to Oshawa.Thank you to all the staff at Wynfield Retirement Residence and the personal support workers who treated Nancy with dignity and kindness, especially Nicole, Cecilia and Nancy. Nick was born on December 19, 1943, to his mother Diamando Lekkas (nee Terzi) and his father Angelo Lekkas in a small village called Geraki, near Sparta, in Greece.He was the oldest of two boys.His father was killed in war action when Nick was just two years old.His mother immigrated to Canada in 1953 and later brought the two boys, Nick and his brother Angelo, in 1957.Nick and his family mainly lived in Toronto when growing up. As he became a young adult, he traveled across Canada from Montreal to Halifax to the West Coast as he worked numerous jobs. He even went to the Woodstock music festival. He trained as a bodybuilder, boxer and powerlifter.He once sparred with the famous George Chuvalo. In 1970, he returned to Greece where he met his future wife Helen (Eleni) Grispou.They were married on January 9, 1972. Together they had two beautiful sons – Kostas and Markos. Throughout most of his adult life, Nick worked as a chef. He worked in numerous restaurants on the islands and resorts in Greece. Then, after the family moved to Canada in 1987, he continued working as a chef and restaurant-owner across Toronto and the GTA. Nick was a lover of cars, including his prized 1987 Buick Grand National.In his later years as a grandfather, Nick got tremendous enjoyment from his three grandsons – Niko, Jeffery and Tasos (parents Markos and wife Rebecca).In his heart were also his two granddaughters – Daphne and Pamela (parents Kosta and wife Joanne). Nick will be dearly missed by his wife Helen of 46 years, his son Markos and wife Rebecca and their three sons, son Kostas and wife Joanne and their two daughters, extended family and friends.In lieu of flowers, a donation to a CHARITY of one's choice would be appreciated by the family.In honour of Nick's wishes, a private service will be held for family and close friends.

Norma will be fondly remembered by the extended Bergeron family, close friends and Doberman breeding acquaintances of many years. Norman Harry Edmondson died at home in Oshawa on Wednesday, June 13 with his beloved wife Judith and daughter Anne by his side.He is also survived by his much loved elder daughter Jane and son-in-law Fred Stinson and his brother Paul and sister-in-law Janet and numerous nieces and nephews.Norman was born on October 13, 1934 in Oshawa, where he received his early education.While taking his B.A. at Queen’s he pursued his interest in drama, culminating in his performance as Hamlet. Tempted to try his luck as an actor, he chose instead to pursue a career in law, to which end he earned his LLB at the University of Toronto Law School.Still his interest in drama continued. In 1959 he auditioned for the role of Mirabel in The Way of the World, produced by the University Alumnae Dramatic Club.Judith Teague was cast opposite him as Millamant. In 1961, following Norman’s call to the Bar, the two were married on August 12th. They have loved, cherished, and supported each other for nearly 57 years. Norman practiced law, first in Whitby and then in Oshawa.During this time, he served on the Whitby Ruddy Hospital Board, as Chairman of the Board of Education for the town of Whitby, and when it was amalgamated with Oshawa and became the Ontario County Board of Education, he served for several years.He also served on the board for the Whitby Station Gallery and had an ongoing active membership in the Oshawa Little Theatre.All this came to an end in 1974, when he was appointed a Judge of the Provincial Court in Durham Region, where he presided until 2009.Norman’s funeral will be held in St. George’s Memorial Church, 51 Centre St. S, Oshawa on Saturday, June 23rd at 11 am.There will also be a visitation on Friday, June 22nd 5-8 pm at McINTOSH-ANDERSON-KELLAM FUNERAL HOME, 152 King St. E, Oshawa (905-433-5558).In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to World Vision or Doctors Without Borders.
