Passed away after a brief illness at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.
Much loved father of Darlene (Dave) Jones, Glenn (Karen) Shirk and Paul Shirk.
Loved grandpa of Kevin, Tammy, Natasha, Terry, Tony, Aaron, Steven, Christopher, Alex, Jordan and DJ. Great-grandpa of Austin, Trinity, Madison, Dylan, Bailey, Brooklyn, Hailey, Hunter, Georgia, Michael, JoJo, Blake and Amelia.
Dear brother of Doug (Goldie) Shirk, Gerald (the late Barb) Shirk, Jim (Willie) Shirk, Wayne (Pat) Johnson and Don (Rose) Ellis. Carman was predeceased by his daughter Brenda Shirk, parents Henry & Ethel Shirk and sister Shirley Shirk.
He will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and countless friends.
Carman had a love for music and was more than happy to share his gift with anyone who would listen.
He was known for spending time both Oshawa Senior Community Centres and Bowmanville Older Adults Association as well as numerous long term care residences, entertaining the residents with his songs. He will be truly missed.
Visitation will be held at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, Bowmanville on Wednesday August 10th, 2022 from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 pm. At Carman’s request no service will be held.

Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, in his 75th year and with his
daughters by his side.
Carl was a loving father to Krystal Barrett and Dianne (Dave) Richey.
Grandfather, “Papa Carl”, to Haleigh, Madisyn, Brylyn, Tylar, Taylor, Wyatt, Parker and Makynli. Carl will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by former spouse Deanna, in-laws, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Carl worked much of his life as a truck driver and owned his own heating company.
When he wasn’t working, he could be found at the old Hampton Coffee Time, scorekeeping ladies softball games or at Saturday night races at local speedways.
He was an avid WWE fan and would argue with all his might that Elvis was still alive.
He was the buyer and fixer of his daughter’s cars for much of their early driving years, could always convince at least one of his nieces or nephews to jump in an icy lake for a buck and was one of the fastest runners on earth, if you dared him to race.
As per Carl’s wishes, no service will take place.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of our dear Cheryl on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at St. Michael’s Hospital, Toronto at the age of 66.
Beloved wife of John Gibson.
Cherished mother of Lewis and Joshua (Kirsty) and step-mother of Jennifer (Chris) and Michael (Rachel).
Treasured grandmother of five girls and four boys.
Predeceased by her parents Athenia and John.

Born November 8, 1931 is Sydney, Cape Breton Nova Scotia, she moved to Toronto where she met and married Lawrence.
Together they ventured eastwards eventually settling in Bowmanville where they raised their family of 5 children.
Special thank you to the wonderful Doctors and Nurses of Med/Surg Floor at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville, who made Charlotte’s final days peaceful and supported her family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. JOSEPH’S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, on Thursday July 21st at 11 am, visitation will be held at the church from 10 – 11 am.
