DVM '59

January 25, 1936 - May 2, 2023 87 Years Old

It is with great sadness that his family shares the news that Craig Cornell passed away on May 2, 2023.

Craig was the beloved husband of almost 69 years to Beth.

His daughters Kim and Laurie will love and miss him forever. David Chiswell, who he thought of as a son, will miss his friendship and guidance; and his sweet dog Chanel is lost without him.

Craig was the eldest son of the late Al and Betty Cornell, and a brother to Carl and his late wife Joye, Keith and his wife Karen, and an uncle to many nieces and nephews.

He was welcomed by the Long, McDonald and Holtby families who highly respected him.

He and Beth enjoyed fun times spent with their 'forever' friends Noreen (Dick)Taylor, John (Marion) Gillham, Marilyn (Dale) Watts, Bertha (Dr. Jack) Thompson, and Mamie (Dr. Bill) McClintock. Our family's friendships with our long-time neighbours meant a great deal to him.

A special thank you to his health care team for their care and compassion: Dr. Andrew Burke, Dr. Oded Friedman, the amazing Guelph Dialysis Centre nurses, Dr. Carl Mackie, Dr. Julie Chaytor, Guelph General Hospital, Grand River Hospital and St. Mary's General Hospital.

Cremation has taken place and a private interment will occur in Uxbridge, Ontario. Arrangements with Low & Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge, Ontario.

In memory of Craig, a donation to the Uxbridge Hospital Foundation (www.oakvalleyhealth.ca/foundations/), the Farley Foundation (www.farleyfoundation.org) or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

It is with immense sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved husband Danny Thomas, who courageously battled a chronic illness for many years.

He passed away the afternoon of April 24, 2023.

Danny was an exceptional man who touched the lives of so many people with his kindness, generosity, and warm spirit. Despite his illness, he remained positive and never lost his love for life.

He was a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend, who always had a smile on his face and a joke in his back pocket.

Throughout his long battle with Diabetes, Danny never complained or let his condition define him. Instead, he remained focused on the things he loved most in life, including spending time with his family and friends, gaming, and staying on top of his favourite sports teams.

His loss leaves a void in our hearts that can never be filled, and we will forever cherish the memories of the time we spent with him. We take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, free from pain and suffering.
We would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and caregivers who provided exceptional care to Danny throughout his illness, especially the last 3 years.

We are also grateful to our family and friends for their unwavering love and support during this difficult time.

A private funeral service will be held for immediate family members only. A celebration of life service will be held May 16, 2023 at 5pm. Location: Scarborough SDA Church, 4350 Lawrence Ave East, Scarborough, M1E 1Z9

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the education funds of his two remarkable daughter’s Kayah Grace and Skylar Gene in memory of their father Danny Sebastian Thomas.

Rest in peace, Dan know that the girls will be covered by the Grace of God.

You will be forever missed and always loved.
