He will be missed by his siblings Jerry Reid (Bonnie) and Donna Adams (Tracy). He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Austin, Cory, Aidan, Tyson, Darryl, Alanna, Jase, Brooklyn, Greyson, Ryerson, Alistair, Zoey and Molly.

Visitation will be held at the COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1587 Highway #2, Courtice (365-800-4827) on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until time of Service in the Chapel at 6:00 p.m.

It is with heavy hearts we announce that Ginette passed away unexpectedly on Monday August 8, 2022 at Belleville General Hospital at the age of 68.

Beloved wife of Paul LaChapelle for 40 years who was with her by her side.

Dear sister of Jean-Guy, Gilles, and Roger and sister-in-law of Dale (Jean-Guy) and Georgette (Gilles).

Predeceased by her parents Lucien and Yvette, her siblings Monique, Robert, Jean-Marc, Jacques, and Maurice and her brother-in-law Eugene.

Beloved Aunt to Lori and Keith, Brent and Serena and to Ron, Anna Marie, Allan and Theresa, Bob, and Ryan, Dustin, Colin, Cori and their families.

Loved by sister-in-law Barbara and Jack Martel and their children Lisa and Summer.

Predeceased by Brother-in-law Gene LaChapelle and remembered by his wife Gwen and their children Christine & Andrea. Dearest Aunt Jeannie to all of her great nieces and nephews.

All who knew Ginette loved her. She was a lifelong caregiver to her best friend and confident, her mother, and to all of her siblings.

Ginette was dedicated to her church, work and volunteer service in healthcare and in the community.

She was an extremely thoughtful, outgoing, funny and generous person and an avid cat lover. She loved being outdoors with the wind on her face.

Ginette will be remembered as a truly gracious, loving, compassionate woman – beautiful inside and out. We will miss her so much.

Visitation will take place at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME , (124 King St. E. Oshawa) on Wednesday August 17, 2022 from 10am-11am, followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary of the People Catholic Church.

Urn interment Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.

It is with profound sadness that the family of Gordon Ewington Jr. announces his unexpected passing on August 7, 2022 at the age of 64.

Predeceased by, but now reunited with his loving parents Gord and Penny Ewington.

Gordon will be dearly missed by his sister Lesley Menary, whom was happy to have the chance to reconnect with him over the last few years. Proud uncle of Max and Lexy.

Fondly remembered by his supportive friend Jimmy as well as his community in Toronto who knew him as ‘Wheels.'

With great sadness, we announce the sudden, yet peaceful passing of Gerald Hicks, 83, in the early morning of Tuesday August 2nd at Oshawa General Hospital in his sleep.

Loving father of Terry Denise (Terry) Eagles & Steven (Dory) Hicks, proud grand poo pa of Stephanie (Dan) Bennett, Krystal (Kaine) Laursen, Cassidy (Matthew) Vanclieaf, Sheldon & Bailey & Great Grandpa Jammie of Benjamin, Isaac & Lorelei.

Survived by his sisters Carolyn Wallace & Sheila (Ray) Simpson, & nieces & nephews.

Born in Sackville NB Gerald in his early days worked in the bush, then started driving trucks.

From there owned his own trucking logistics company & then decided to take up truck repairs running Gerry’s Truck Service originally in Whitby then moving to Port Perry for almost 45 years.

His true love was stock car racing & would spend as much time as he could working on them & at the track with friends.

Those who knew Gerry thought of him as someone who would not hold back, most found this somewhat of an endearing trait about him.

He would go out of his way to help someone in need & always had an open heart. He will be greatly missed by all.

Visitatiion at the Low and Low Funeral Home, Port Perry, on Saturday, August 13, 2022 from 10a.m. to 12p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at Steve & Dory’s after the visitation on August 13th as well from 1pm to 4pm, 161 Elm Tree Road, Little Britain.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean (Cain) Woodward on Saturday July 30th, 2022 at her home.

Born March 18, 1928, she was in her 95th year.

Beloved wife of the late Walter “Jit” Woodward and loving mother to Leah and Tom (Roberta).

She will be dearly missed by grandchildren Courtney (Sean), Derrick (Jessica), Jesse (Jessica), Abby and Ally.

Also great grandmother to Noelle and Laura.

Predeceased by her siblings Ray, Peg, Audrey (recently deceased July 7, 2022), Glen and Geraldine.

Sadly missed and adored by her many nieces and nephews. Jean was born to Alvery Lee Cain and Jennie May Wood on March 18th, 1928 in Burnt River.

The family moved to Lindsay where she met her future husband, Walter “Jit” Woodward.

After they married, Jean and Walter moved to Bowmanville where they lived the rest of their lives.

Jean loved gardening, was an amazing caregiver for her family, and loved throwing parties.

Her favourite pastime was reading The Toronto Star and doing jigsaw puzzles. Jean adored her five grandchildren and two great granddaughters.

Visitation will be held at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, Bowmanville on Wednesday August 3rd from 2 – 3 pm, Funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 3 pm. Private Interment.

After a courageous and long battle with cancer, as per his wish, Jerry passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family.

Jerry passed away on Saturday July 30th, 2022 at the age of 83.

Beloved husband of Lisa for 57 years.

Proud father of Jeffery (Laura) and David (Brook), adored grandpa of Myles and Cullen. Lovingly remembered by Val and Leo Choloniuk, Rolf and Tania, Stosh, Stefan and Alexis Fabricius, Terry and Patti, Mackenzie and Melissa Choloniuk. Sadly missed by Gloria, Bob and Darryl Bowler. As well as many more family and friends.

Jerry came to Canada in his late teens from Detroit, Michigan. He was a skilled Tool and Die Maker at Pedlar People Manufacturing, finally coming to work at North American Steel as the Plant Manager for over 35 years.

Jerry was a sports enthusiast; hunting, fishing, hockey, bowling, downhill skiing and his ultimate passion, golf. He enjoyed many years as a member of the Oshawa Golf and Curling Club and more recently, as a member of the Warriors and Povinsky golf leagues.

Jerry was also an active and dedicated member of the parish at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Jerry was in charge of the maintenance and upkeep of the Parish. He gave of his time generously and did his job with caring and resourcefulness.

Travelling the world with Lisa was another one of Jerry’s passions, particularly if there was a golf course nearby..

He was a proud family man who was determined to remain active and full of life, right up to the end.

Visitation will be held at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME , 124 King Street East, Oshawa on Tuesday August 2nd, 2022 from 4pm to 8pm with Panakhyda at 7pm.

Funeral Services will be held at St. John's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 31 Bloor Street East, Oshawa on Wednesday August 3rd at 11am.

Internment to follow at Thornton Cemetery, 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. John's Ukrainian Orthodox church are greatly appreciated in memory of Jerry.
