May 19, 1939 - September 24, 2022
83, passed suddenly but peacefully with her family at her side on September 24, 2022, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.
Stella was born on May 19, 1939, in Cospicua, Malta, the eldest daughter of Michael and Jane (née Salvina) Pace.
She is survived by her five children, including Mary-Lou Vandenbroek, David Clarke, and Andrea Richer-Simon (Jason), and twelve grandchildren, including Kyle, Emily, Rory, Alexander, Harper, Cloe, Vega, and Verity.
She also leaves behind her sisters Pauline, Josephine, and Carmen (Dave), her sister-in-law Margaret Pace, and many nieces and nephews.

At the age of 12, Stella and her family moved to Oshawa, Ontario from Malta to begin a new life in Canada.
Eventually, she resettled in Toronto before returning to Oshawa in her final years.
While she was known and loved by the people of her Toronto neighbourhood as The Avon Lady, the most important roles to her were being a mother and nana. Up until the very end, Stella also had a love for all animals, caring for her jungle of plants all throughout her apartment, and spending time in nature.
She was always happy to "have a coffee at the mall with the girls" or to pop into her favourite Greek restaurant for fries and gravy. Stella touched the lives of so many people and will be deeply missed.
She will never be forgotten, her memory kept alive in the hearts of all the people who will always love her so dearly.
The Celebration of Life for Stella will be for immediate family and will be held at BARNES MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME on Monday October 3rd at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in honour of Stella to your local humane society.
