Loving son of Lorna Bowler & the late Basil Bacon, and dear brother of Wayne Bacon (Patti) and Jennifer Copeland (Norm). He was predeceased by his brothers Rodney and David. Beloved son in law to William & the late Barbara Curtis.

Dear brother-in-law to Brian Curtis (Cris), Alan Curtis (Lorie) and Ross Curtis (Niki). He will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Doug was a long-time employee at DuPont (Whitby) as an Industrial Mechanic/Millwright, where he was known for his dedication and ability to fix any problem that arose. What was truly special to him was helping family and friends with anything automotive related, always looking for the best or safest product for the best price.

Doug was everybody’s handy man. He was often seen detailing cars, riding ATVs, and woodworking. He was seldom seen without his Tilley Hat. Doug truly valued quality time with his family.

A Celebration of Doug’s life will be held at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville on Friday April 14th, 2023, from 1 – 2 pm. Words of remembrance will be shared at 2 pm.

In her 95th year passed away peacefully at Hillsdale Estates on March 31st surrounded by loved ones.

Born Aug 8th 1928 in Murchyville, Halifax County to John and Sarah (Bell) Scott. One of 15 children she grew up on the family farm in Middle Musquodoboit, Nova Scotia.

A devoted wife of 46 years to Roy Malcolm (deceased 1997) they raised 7 children in Sydney Nova Scotia and Oshawa Ontario.
In addition to her parents she is predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters and cherished son Wendell.

Dora is survived by siblings Annie, Robie and Douglas. Children Ronald (Judy), Daniel (Vicki), Clarence (Joanne), Clifford (Maggie), Doris, Linda (Phil). Grandchildren Rod (Anna), Ron, Sarah (Kevin), Tina, Daniel (Scott), Ken (Holly), Meghan (Derek), Angie(Jeff), Tom (Stacy), Melinda (Steve), Cori (Brian), Darcy, Stacy, Rachel, Jamie Lynn. 21 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was happiest surrounded by family and will be missed by all who knew her.

A gathering will begin at 12:00p.m with a service to celebrate Dora’s life to follow at 1:00p.m on Wednesday, April 5th, 2023 at Mount Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby ON. Interment of cremated remains will take place at MOUNT LAWN CEMETERY .

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Dora’s memory to the Leukemia foundation or a charity of your choice.

The family would like to thank Hillsdale Estates for their compassionate care.

Born in Ottawa, Ontario, Don passed away peacefully at Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry, Ontario.

Don is predeceased by parents (Joe & Joan) and survived by 10 siblings; Dave (Lorna), Peter, Rick (Sandy), Wendy (Vern, deceased), Bob (Val), Debby (Fernando), Nancy (Rob), Ken (Wendy), Heather (Ryan), Brent (Brenda); along with many nieces and nephews.

Don was always quick with a smile, a laugh, joke or story to engage and entertain friends and family alike.

His fun loving nature will leave all that knew him with many stories of their own.

He is fondly remembered for his sense of humour and ability to make everyone around him feel at ease.

According to his wishes, Don will be cremated and a private family Celebration of Life will be held.

Dan worked 35 years for IBM which brought him to Canada in 1969. Dan loved golf and soccer and spending time with his family.

Dan is survived by his wife Elizabeth of 63 years. Dear father of Lorna (Mike), loving Grandpa to Meaghan and Rachel. Dear brother to sister Margaret and predeceased brothers Angus and Richard.

Dan will be greatly missed by his friends and extended family.

Peacefully after a long illness our “Dan the Man” passed away at his Whitby home with his devoted sister by his side.

He was born on November 16, 1954, and passed away on March 13, 2023 at the age of 68.

He is survived by his only sister Mary Jane who is 18 months older. His parents were Robert Edward Nettle (d. 1962) and his mother Ann Margaret Cox Nettle (d. 2009) who resided in Whitby since 1949.

He had an extended family of many cousins, their families and his only Uncle Howie Nettle at 92 years of age residing in Bedford, Nova Scotia. Dan is survived by some long time wonderful, devoted friends: the Mackey Clan, Tony Reimer, Mike MacGillivray and Michael J. Fox.

Dan and his sister shared the affection of their home and property called Brookwood Acres and had many friends plus customers who loved to visit, share the joy of nature and have a warm discussion with Dan who was gifted with a great memory of past events and great stories.

Dan ran his own business for over 50 years called Carriage House Reproduction Pine Furniture. He was a cabinet maker and furniture restorer who built his own workshop. He created or repaired wonderful pieces of furniture and even created unusual jobs such as the wood parts of old cars for that Fawcett Motors required to restore an automobile and he created fine pieces of furniture from harvest tables to unique designs that the local Artists required for their latest projects.

A Celebration of His Life will be held at W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby on Saturday, April 29, 2023 with visitation from 1 - 2 pm and a Celebration Service at 2 pm. Dan has been cremated and will be interred at a later date in May.

Daniel had soft spot for animals and loved nature. In the last 12 years he committed to caring for some feral cats who resided on the property. He was greatly supported by Saint Rescue and Adoption.

Ewart graduated in Medicine in 1954 from the University of Toronto.

He served his country as a group Captain in the RCAF medical service. Later he moved with his wife and children to Alliston, Ontario where he practiced as a general practitioner with Medical Associates from 1960 until 1978.

Ewart and his wife, Joan moved to Mobile, Alabama in 1978 practicing medicine until 1998.

In 2010, they moved to Village of Taunton Mills in Whitby Ontario.

Ewart collected antique clocks and continued this passion throughout his entire life. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge of clocks with his friends and the clock community.

Beloved husband to Joan. Loving father to Susan Charters-Conner (John) and Michael Charters (Donna). Cherished grandfather to Michael Conner (Nicky Hayes), Jennifer, Shannon and Christine Charters (Christian Santos).

Great-Grandfather to Charlotte and Mateo Santos. Dear brother to Jean Flynn (Garry) and uncle to Tess and Kathryn.

Visitation will be held at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa on Sunday March 19th from 1pm – 3pm and 6pm-8pm. A Celebration of Darrell’s Life will take place in the Chapel of ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME on Monday March 20th at 11am.

Interment will take place at GROVESIDE CEMETERY, Whitby.
