11/27/1949 - 5/3/2017It is with unspeakable shock and sadness that we want to let you know that our husband, father, grandad, brother, uncle, pastor, and friend, Ford Quinlan, died suddenly this morning. (May 3, 2017)After having surgery for a serious leg injury in February, Ford was suffering from intense pain and discomfort that led to severe sleep deprivation. This in turn led to symptoms of deep depression. He became far from his usual positive, persevering self. This depression got the better of him early this morning, when he left the house alone, walked to a nearby pond, and, to all appearances, ended his own life.We believe with all our hearts that Ford was not himself this morning. This one act does not come close to defining him or his legacy. We have over 67 years of knowing Ford as an extremely kind, sacrificially generous, radically hospitable, faithfully loyal, hilariously outgoing, unwaveringly hard-working, always persevering, fully committed follower of Jesus Christ. We know that Ford was a blessing to countless people, including all who we are sending this message to today. We hope our honesty in sharing what he went through will remind us that even the strongest among us are not immune to illness and weakness, but that God still has him and each of us in the palm of His hand.Join in celebrating Ford's life at The Embassy Church, 416 Taunton Rd W, Oshawa, for Visitation on Sunday May 7, 2017 from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm and from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm on Monday May 8th, 2017 with Funeral Service at 1:00 pm in the Main Auditorium and Reception to Follow.
