Gary Hamilton
May 12, 1945 – December 22, 2021
Passed away on Wednesday December 23, 2021 after a year long illness at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, at the age of 76.
Predeceased by his parents Bruce and Mildred Hamilton.
Loving father of Peter (Sarah) Hamilton and step-father of Karen (Ben) Dlugosz.
Proud papa to Aidan and Tristan and step-papa to Tori and Emma.
Gary had enjoyed 25 years of retirement following 35+ years service at General Motors.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and long drives in the country.
A private family visitation will take place with a celebration of life to be held in the future.

Glenn McConnell
Passed away suddenly on December 16, 2021 at the age of 46.
Predeceased by his parents George and Irene McConnell.
Survived by his brother Kenneth McConnell, cousin April Hutcheson, uncle Bill and auntie Cheryl.
Will be remembered by his extended family Ryan (Candace), Jamiee, Cheyenne, Maria and Ryan Jr.

Glenn Joseph Broadley
1958 - 2021 It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce that Glenn passed away on December 15, 2021 at the age of 63 after a long battle with Cancer.
He passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded with love.
Son of the late Anne and Frank Broadley, Glenn will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 39 years Kim, his younger brother Ian (Tracey), sisters-in-law Lori (Bob), Wendy (Bob) brother-in-law Mark and mother-in-law Marion.
Loving uncle to Carly (Kurt), Amanda (Andrew), Cameron (Kayla), Myles (Savannah), Bethany, Amanda (Brody), Braydon and Kyle. Grunkle Glenn to Nathan, Eli, Sage, River and Ember. Born in Toronto, Glenn was a dreamer. He was an entrepreneur.
Glenn was a boxer in his teenage years but the greatest fight of his life began in June 2013 when he was diagnosed with Stomach Cancer. He got knocked down but got back up. In June of 2020, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Liver Cancer.
Glenn fought this next round for a long 17 months. He was strong and positive throughout his fight. It was a fight he fought with grace and dignity. Always saying he was a lucky guy.
That positivity was how he lived his life right up to the end. Glenn was a great husband, brother, brother-in-law, son-in-law, uncle, ‘grunkle’ and friend. Nothing brought him greater joy in life than spending time with his family and friends.
The family would like to thank the great doctors and nurses at Michael Garron Hospital, especially Dr. Carmine Simone, thoracic surgeon, who saved Glenn’s life 8 years ago.
Thank you also to the great doctors and nurses at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre where Glenn received treatment this past year. A special thank you to his nurse Lindsay from Saint Elizabeth Healthcare (SE Health) who’s compassion and reassuring presence during the last year and a half was always comforting.
In keeping with Glenn’s wishes, there will be a celebration of life for immediate family members in the Spring at his cremation.
Giovanna Maria Penna
Passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Wednesday, December 15, 2021.
Giovanna was a beloved daughter, loving sister, dear step mom and cherished aunt and friend to many.
She embraced life, and loved time enjoyed with her family.
She will be lovingly remembered by many.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 19th from 2:00-4:00pm and from 6:00-8:00pm at the DeStefano Funeral Home, Oshawa. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, December 20th at 11:00am in the Chapel. Entombment will follow in Toronto.
In memory of Giovanna, donations may be made to Breast Cancer Research or to the Liver Foundation.
Giovanni “John” Volpe
Passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021 surrounded by his precious girls and his loving family.
Sadly missed by his girls Madelaine and Grazia.
Loving husband to Monika.
Cherished brother to Maria, Filomena (Gino) and Tony (Laura).
Predeceased by his parents Francesco and Grazia.
Cherished son to Maria and Oma Inge.
Brother in law to Carmen (Jeff). Uncle John will be missed by his nieces Melanie, Amanda (Mark), Brittany and Mia and nephew Christopher (Miska) and great nephew Reily.
John was a member of Local #183, worked in construction his whole life.
He enjoyed building, fishing, spending time outdoors but most of all time with family and friends laughing and joking around.
His most peaceful times were spent with family in Haliburton enjoying nature.
Special thanks to Scarborough Centenary Hospital Fourth Floor Cardiac Wing doctors and nurses for the care and dignity they showed John in his final days.
He will be remembered for his infectious laugh, amazing cooking abilities and willingness to help neighbours and friends to fix and build anything. Friends may call on Friday, December 17, 2021 from 5-8 p.m. Due to Covid-19 restrictions masks are mandatory and you must contact the Mount Lawn Funeral Home to reserve your space. Private family funeral on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 11 a.m.

November 30th, 1939 - December 10th, 2021
Passed away suddenly on Friday, December 10, 2021, at his home, at the age of 82.
Predeceased by his partner Muriel King.
Dear brother of Clara Atkinson, Pearl Miller and the late Keith McCrimmon.
Gordon will be missed by his dear friend Glen McEwan.

Gladys Isobel Viola Elliott
Passed away peacefully, after an exemplary life, on November 27th, 2021, in her 97th year.
Born on May 17th, 1925, she was an independent, determined woman with unshakeable faith and trust.
Beloved mother of Heather (Collin), Bruce (Diane), and Douglas (Nicole) and cherished Grandmother of Krystal, Spencer, Thomas (Lisa), Matthew (Bailey), Christopher, Jonathan (Courtney), Ryan (Ashleigh), Erin (Andy), Brianna (Miles), Jesse, Chase, and Tyler.
She was a delightful Great Grandmother to Parker, Nathan, Zachary, Orry, Milo, Hank, Pemberley, Atticus, Lucy, Aurora, Aubrey, and Kevin.
Gladys will also be fondly remembered by her nephew Bill (Margo) and in-laws Elizabeth and Richard.
Gladys was predeceased by the love of her life ‘Billy’, her mother Christina, father Charles, brothers Cecil and Gordon, and sister Muriel.
Her tenacity, courage, grit, and resolve served her well throughout her life as she raised three children after the early loss of her husband.
A special thank you to the Staff of Lakeridge Health Ajax Pickering Hospital for their care and compassion. The dignity and respect Mom was shown as she prepared to cross the veil, will long be remembered.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, December 4th, 2021, from 10:00am until 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Pickering Chapel. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:30 am. A private family interment will follow in Scarborough.
