DAVIE, John Davie - 9-Feb-1931 - 16-Sep-2024
It is with profound sadness to share that John Davie passed away peacefully at home on September 16, 2024 in his 93rd year. John was born in Calgary, Alberta to Robert and Mary Davie (Robertson). John was the youngest of four children, predeceased by his older siblings Lillian, Agnes, and Andrew.
John leaves behind his good wife of 67 years, Lil Davie (Sturm), who stood bye his side through all of life’s highs and lows. John was a proud father to Brent (Patrice), Doug (Toni), and Ron (Robine); wonderful grandfather to Kyra Kent (Ryan), Taylor, Mason (Rosie), Brianna, Christopher, and Amber; and caring great-grandfather to Logan, Celia, Cressida, and Corina.
John had a successful career of 40 years at Robin Hood Multifoods. He started in the mail room and worked his way up to Distribution Sales and Service Manager of Atlantic Canada. His career allowed him and his family to live in many provinces across Canada before retiring to Cobourg, ON in 1993. Throughout their travels, John and Lil formed many great friendships. In retirement, John was a very active member of the Cobourg community and earned the accolade of senior of the year in 2003 for his contributions. John enjoyed many hobbies in his life. John was a skilled photographer who took over leadership of the Cobourg Camera Club and won awards for his photos. John also enjoyed playing bridge with his wife and was chair of the Cobourg Bridge Club. His other interests included genealogy, music, computers, traveling, fishing, and gardening - John and Lil had the most beautiful gardens at their homes.
John's faith was also very important to him and would often provide comfort and a sense of community to him during uncertain times. He was a member of many church choirs over the years and deeply enjoyed bringing music to an occasion. After moving one last time to Harmony Hills Retirement Community in Oshawa, John and Lil became active participants at St. Lukes Presbyterian Church.
John expressed his deepest gratitude to the palliative care team at the Durham Regional Cancer Center, Paramed home care, Pastor Bill Grace, and his friends and family for the comfort they provided throughout his journey home to the Lord.
We invite you to join us for John's funeral service at St. Lukes Presbyterian Church on Friday, September 27, 2024. In lieu of flowers, donations to the church are welcome and appreciated. Donations can be sent via e-transfer to stlukes_treas@outlook.com.

NAMGAUDS, Cory Jason Namgauds - February 12, 1978 - September 9, 2024
It is with great sadness that the family of Cory Namgauds announce his sudden passing on Monday, September 9, 2024.
Family & friends were very special to Cory, as he often put their needs ahead of his own, whether that be offering a tool, helping with a task, or simply lending a listening ear to a friend in need. With a successful career as an automotive & heavy equipment mechanic, Cory was often the go-to on the shop floor for advice and was always happy to teach along the way. Cory enjoyed vacationing, motorsports, music, and his pets – notably, family cat Sammy. Cory also had a passion for vegetable gardening and spent many happy years doing this with his mom. He would even grow vegetables he didn't like but loved to share them with those around him.
Cory will be forever remembered by his mother Robin Zaruk; brother Blugh Namgauds; sister-in-law Marika Reinke; niece Dana Namgauds and nephew Daire Namgauds as well as extended family members & friends. Cory was predeceased by his stepfather Thomas Zaruk.
