It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Tania Toini MacLellan (nee Crum), devoted mother of 2, grandmother of 3 and great-grandmother of 4 on July 24, 2024 at the age of 81.

Tania was born on August 5, 1942 in Hornepayne, Ontario to her loving parents Roy and Hilja Crum (both predeceased), where she spent the majority of her life until relocating to Cobourg, Ontario in 1996 to be closer to them again.

Throughout her years spent in Hornepayne, Tania dedicated herself to the Grace United Church, where she found joy and fulfillment in the church community and her involvement with the Sunday school program and volunteer custodial duties.

Dedicated wife of over 60 years to the late Charles D. MacLellan, Tania is survived by her loving children Michael (Lisa) and Sherry (Wayne). Her children remained a source of joy and pride throughout her life.

Above all, she cherished her role as grandma (Nanny). Her grandchildren, Tiffany (Craig), Kristen (Harry), Brooke (Joey) and great-grandchildren Kinsley, Emersyn, August, and Henry brought immeasurable joy to her life. She cherished their visits dearly, and found immense joy in their time together.

Tania proudly carried on the legacy of her Finnish mother’s strength and resilience and her heart was forever tied to her Finnish roots.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Cunningham and the caring hospital staff whose dedication and kindness provided comfort during a difficult time.
We would also like to give a special thank you to all the personal support workers and nurses through St. Elizabeth who not only provided exceptional care but some also become like a friend to our mother. It is because of these dedicated staff members that our mother was able to remain in her home until her final moments.

Sincere thanks go to all who have shown kindness and support during this time of loss.

In accordance with her wishes, no formal services will be held.
Any donations can be made to the MS Society or the Humane Society
