Passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday December 12th, 2023 at the age of 86 years. Predeceased by her beloved husband Mike Gallas (2003).

Proud Loving Mother of Christine Reid (David), Marty (Susan), Randy (Marj),and Darlene Bremner (Scott).

Cherished Nana of Michael Gallas, Leigh Gallas (Matt), Arron Gallas, predeceased by Jennifer Gallas; Tracy White (Sean), Terry Reid (Min-Hye), Robert Reid, Dan, Mallory (Adam), Blake Bremner (Lauren), Jessica Bremner (Dave) and Big Nana of Claire, Thomas, Chase, Jaxen, Cohen and River.

Dear sister of Kathy Hooey (Gary), and predeceased by siblings Ted O’Connor and Tom O’Connor.

Will be missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Anne will always be remembered for being President of Willow Park Ladies Golf League at Sunnybrae Golf Course, Port Perry, over 35 years, and loved every minute.

She was very proud of her Irish Catholic upbringing , involved in the CWL for 40 plus years; Vice President of Whitby Figure Skating Club and founding member of Willow Park Girls Baseball League; Enthusiastic supporter of Garrard Road Minor Lacrosse Association; Volunteer at Whitby Seniors Centre on the Trip Committee; Worked for Elections Canada for many years.

Special thank you to Dr. Isabella Dion and receptionist Sara and all the wonderful PSW’s for the daily care for our mother.

Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME 847 King Street West, on Tuesday December 19th, 2023 from 4:00 pm. to 8:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday December 20th, 2023 at 10:30 am. at Holy Family Catholic Church (91 Ribblesdale Drive, Whitby). Reception to follow.

After reception Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Whitby.

Velia passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday November 27th at the age of 86 at Agecare Samac Oshawa, formally known as Chartwell Wynfield LTC.

Loving daughter of the late Michele Bombino and Maria Bombino (Mele) of Grimaldi, Italy.

Predecessed by her husband Anthony and her beloved son John.

She leaves behind her devoted son Frank and daughter in law Maria. Cherished Nonna to John Jr., Merissa (Mike), Veronica and Sarah. Predeceased by her siblings Joseph (Emilia), Rosina (John), Geltruda and Giovanni. She will also be missed by her sister in law Giovanna (Grimaldi, Italy) as well as her many nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family and friends.

Born in Grimaldi (Cosenza) Italy, Velia left in July 1960 to move to Canada to start a new way of life and a family. She worked full time as a head housekeeper at the Dynasty (Carousel) Inn in Oshawa for many years. Velia was a hard worker, an amazing cook and baker and always enjoyed the company of family and friends.

She was a role model to her family and many people who knew her and often helped the community through acts of kindness. Velia showed affection, respect, loyalty and strength to all those she loved.

She lived for her children and grandchildren. Family was everything to her.

Velia had a way of making each person, even those who were initially strangers, feel like family within a few short minutes. In true Velia fashion, no one ever left her home hungry.

The Scalia family wishes to thank everyone for their many years of countless support throughout Velia’s illnesses. Your kindness has provided her and her family comfort and strength these past 10 years and their gratitude is endless.

Velia’s family would also like to thank Agecare Samac Oshawa, where she was a resident for more than 8 years. Especially Dr. Wilk and the entire staff of administrators, nurses, PSWs, and volunteers for their compassion and exceptional care.

She will be dearly missed and treasured always.

It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Vince, surrounded by his family after a sudden illness at the Lakeridge Health Oshawa, on Wednesday November 15th, 2023 at the age of 64 years.

Dearly beloved husband of Dorothy of 38 years.

Survived by his siblings Joanne Carson, Diane Carter, Lise Dreault, and predeceased by brother Claude Dreault and sister Denise Marullo. Will be missed by sister in-law Micheline Gagne.

Dear son of the late Vincent Marullo Sr. and Georgette Dreault.

Fondly remembered by his favourite mother in-law Georgina Hanson; and his many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Vince will be remembered as a wonderful, loving husband, father and family man.

He was truly devoted to his family. Vince was a hard worker dedicated to serving his clients.

He will be forever loved and remembered and never to be forgotten.

Will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Valerie was an incredibly caring and giving person to all those around her.

She was incredibly selfless and always put the wellbeing of others before her own.

Valerie faced a lot of obstacles in life but that never stopped her from doing all she could for those around her. Even on her worst days she would find ways to make those around her smile with her quirky, and sometimes over the top, sense of humour.

She was the brightest light in the room and you couldn’t help but be drawn to her.

Visitation will be held at Oshawa Funeral Home (847 King Street West) on Thursday November 9th, 2023 from 12:30 p.m. until time of funeral services in the chapel at 1:30 pm.

Valerie’s family and friends were her world and she would have done everything and anything for them, so now we ask if you could do the same for her and help alleviate her children and family of this financial burden in any way you can.

Our beloved Victor Carter passed away peacefully early October 8th, 2023 at the age of 80 years old.

He is survived by his siblings Rita, Stanton, Shirley, George, Johnny, Sonia, Ryan, children, nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Victor was predeceased by his parents Colin Carter and Doris Skeete.

As well as his wife Ivy and children Fred and Cindy.

Victor was born in Bridgetown, Barbados on August 21st 1943 and emigrated to Montreal, Canada in 1953 with his Brother George Carter where he lived for many years.

His childhood instilled a lifelong passion for athletics where he followed his high school dream in football (with the Montreal alouettes) and baseball at a professional level for a period of time.

He later moved to Toronto where he was employed as an engineer with Toronto District School Board for many years.

However, Victor’s love for Barbados never faded as the beach, food and the people brought him back each year following the passing of his late wife Ivy.

Victor and Ivy first met after an evening of dancing. The rest is history.

Visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (95-721-1234) on Friday, October 13th from 9:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 10:30 a.m.
