Christena was the beloved wife of Murray Tighe and the loving mother of Christy (Simon), Douglas (Maggie), Maureen (Grant), Mary (Bob), Cathy (Grant), Jeannie (Mark), Janet (Tony), and Frances (Fred). She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Ciara, Tim, Nick, Tracy, Holly, Patrick, Brett, Rory, Joel, Connor, Emily, Ian, Alex, Cody, Hannah, Allison and Jack and by her 13 great grandchildren.
She was a wonderful Aunt Chris to her many nieces and nephews.

Christena was born in Port Hope and moved to Maple Grove as a young girl. Christena and Murray purchased a home in Bowmanville as a young couple and she resided there for the remainder of her life.
Christena and Murray spent many enjoyable years travelling Canada and the world, visiting their children and grandchildren.
Christena was a lifelong member of St Andrews Presbyterian Church and a tireless volunteer for many community organizations.
She loved her family, her books, her garden, her neighbourhood walks and reading the morning newspaper.
As a family we give thanks and deep gratitude for a life well lived. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St Andrews Presbyterian Church.
A Private family service will be held on Wednesday June 16th.
At home in Courtice Ontario, in the company of her family, left this world on June 11, 2021 after a courageous battle with COPD.
Ceacilia was born to Anna and Hendrick Menting of Keijenborg, Holland. She was the youngest of 12 children and is survived by her sister Marietje.
Ceacilia was a little ahead of her time. In no rush to get married, she came to Canada in 1958 to discover if this guy she met named Joe was worth learning more about.
A brave move across the ocean for a single woman. And so began a courtship that became a 60 year marriage, with Joe, a loving partner to the very end. His devotion to be described as heroic. Ceacilia will be missed by Joe everyday. Before marrying, she had room and board with Agnes and Bill Schroer in port Whitby, arranged by Joe prior to her arrival. And so began a friendship that lasted over six decades.
Together with the families of Ben and John Huinink and Henk and Benny Bouwmeister, they formed what was commonly referred to as the gang, with whom they had the privilege of life long friendships. Again, ahead of her time, she encouraged independence and the merits of self reliance to her four daughters, Debbie, Audrey, Lorraine and Jennifer.
Heartfelt thanks to neighbours Shawn and Jennifer and Keri-Lynn and Jos for always lending a helping hand and to Dr. Williams for the compassionate care he provided to the end.
A visitation will be held at the Morris Funeral Chapel, Wednesday, June 16, 2021. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, a private family service will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Canadian Tire JUMPSTART program, giving more kids a chance to play. She would have liked that.
